Hit ‘em All Nevada – Day 30
This morning is packing day once again. I went down to use my final coupon for their breakfast buffet. I always enjoy picking up a local paper where ever I happen to be staying and read what’s going on while I enjoy coffee and the simply relaxing. I drove over to Starbucks to turn in the report and then drove over to the Town Square shopping center where there is a Rave Theater complex. Today COWBOYS AND ALIENS begins and I’ve wanted to see this since I saw the first trailer back in February. The movie, though a little gruesome for small kids, was terrific.
I’ve reported on the Town Square in previous years. It’s one of my favorite shopping areas and I’m impressed on what they do here for families. There’s always some kind of event going on for families from Easter Egg hunts to Christmas shows. They have a “town center” where you can bring a blanket and enjoy a picnic while the kids splash around in their fountains. I know that like many other companies are having some financial hardships, but you’d never know it to walk around. Kudos to people here.

Today I’m checking once again into the Hilton. As I had mentioned before, this is one of the few Las Vegas properties I’m paying for because my free offers rarely include weekends. This time I used the option C, which is $25 per night. When I checked in even the registration clerk was surprised how cheap that was for a weekend. I asked her for a room in the north tower so I could use the glass elevator and park right there, which would make moving my bags really easy. She asked me if I’d like to have one of their recently upgraded larger corner rooms. She has one that is on the 27th floor and is right next to the elevator. It would cost me an extra $20 per night. Of course I would. The room is very nice with a flat screen TV, refrigerator, a chair, sofa, large bathroom and overstuffed bed. I will say that overall this trip; I have scored some very nice rooms.

After unpacking, I went down to the casino and gave it go on their LOTR machines, which were okay and then into their huge sportsbook (took a pic but it came out all blurry) to play some 9/6 Jacks (a loss) and their nickel deuces, which I hit two single line sets of deuces. I end up breaking even for the session. The Hilton opened a poker room in a corner of the sportsbook when it was popular, but it didn’t last long and now is simply a non-smoking lounge you can just sit and watch games.
This report is insanely short and I apologize for that, but today all I really did was hang out at the casino, pick up some dinner and watch some TV. I’m sure there’ll be much more happening tomorrow.
