Hobbling home: Days 7/8

My friend was discharged Tuesday morning (it was going to be Monday, but they keot her for an extra day's observation). We got her back to her place easily enough--she was more mobile than I thought she would be. I'd already stocked the place with food both human and feline. The kitties greeted us profusely--again, no meowing, but plenty of loud purring. Her nurse's aide dropped in this morning and insisted on puttering around doing things that were outside the nurse purview--she even said she'd clean the litterbox tomorrow (!). There's a pile of medications to be dealt with, of course, but she's able to hobble around and in a few days, will be actually walking without support--that's one thing the aide is supposed to help her with.

So, my work here is done. Last night, I managed to torch the entirety of my $300 trip win (machines were uncooperative--grrrr), but I did post a $70 win tonight. And ALL my meals have been free, with a $216 total hotel bill. Actually, I'm going to be able to comp away about $80 of that. So, cheap Vegas diversion, and I was able to help out. And the cats were minimally traumatized by mom's absence.

The heat the last couple of days has been manageable. There's such a qualitative difference between 110 and "merely" 100.

Sounds like a 'win'.  You helped a friend in need and her furry companions.  Thanks for the report!

Very kind of you!

Thanks for a great report!  You kept your food and lodging budget to a minimum, and ate very well.

Well done!  And I agree with the 110 vs. 100 rule. A hundred ain't nothin'.. But 110 has its challenges.
