Jan 19-Feb 5 part 1

We left from Detroit on Wed Jan 19th. This trip consists of myself, my husband Rick, my parents and my sister for part of the trip. The plane ride was uneventful and seemed like it took forever. Once we hit the airport it was time to collect the bags and head for the car. Let me tell you anyone asking about Dollar changing their policy, they have. Last year I tipped the guy and twenty and asked about a van, no problem. This year, we had a full size car and asked the worker about the van with a 20, and she stated that I rented a full size and that is what I get. Their selection of full size cars was a malibu, or an impala. We went with the impala. Now, there were 4 bags and my sister would have one so this would be a challenge just to put the suitcases in the car. Yes, one could say if you wanted a van rent it, well at double the rate I could not afford it so I got what I could and hoped for the tip trick.

Twenty mninutes after trying to fit the suitcases in the trunk we were on our way to South Point. We got a good rate for the night and our rooms were very nice. We got a funbook with free lunch buffet, drink and souvenir. My parents were ready to eat so we made the lunch buffet and it was very good. Last year they had shortribs and we hoped they had them this year...They were good like we remembered.

We are scheduled at SP for one night and then we move to Laughlin for the weekend.

We got a good deal at the Colorado Belle for the weekend and opted to go a day early. Our room was ok but it smelled musty to me. Thursday, we checked in with rooms next to each other and my sister and her husband scheduled for Friday with room adjoining.. We played at the Tropicana xpress and at the Belle of couse. I love the WOZ at the belle and it did not dissapoint. Made some good money and got to play for a long time. We had dinner at Carnigie restaurant at the Trop. Very good and what a good price for that and the specials...

Friday, my sister and her husband had a drive from Phoenix and made good time getting there later in the afternoon. We decided on dinner at Mark Twains. Ribs/chicken auce for $10.95. very good..

Sat we started with breakfast, part of pkg we got. Standard breakfast. Dinner was at the Egdewater buffet with 2/4/1. Better than the belle that is for sure, crab legs, prime rib something for everyone. Earlier in the day we walked to Riverside, Aquarius, Pioneer and Gold Nugget. I had a pin of Michgan for the curator of the car musuem at the Riverside. He collects pins from the states and other countries. My boss gave me one of our sheriff pins for his map.

Sunday, we had breakfast and decided we would get a fairly early start to Vegas, and my sisters husband had a 3 hr drive back to Phoenix. The suitcase dilema was taken care of by us emptying out our collapsable suitcase and putting the belongings along side the other bags. Thank goodness for travel bags. My sister wanted to show us a different way to Vegas so off we went. We went on Nipton Rd from Searchlight ending up just outside Primm. This is a nice drive if you have a little time to kill and want a different way to Vegas. We stopped at the Primm casinos for a break and then off to Vegas...

You will notice that there is not any talk about big wins, that is because there weren't any. So far there hasn't been anything worth writing about, with the exception of the new machines, ROCKIN OLIVES, thanks Jon I looked in the casinos specifically for these and found them at the Trop in Laughlin. They are fun and I didn't mind losing my money so much as it was so much fun playing that machine.
