We slept in a but on Monday but didn't want to get too late a start. Hubby had mentioned pre trip that he'd like to go to the Mirage this trip so I asked if he'd go with me to the secret garden. He said sure. I knew they opened at 10 and figured if we didn't get there early, all we'd see was sleeping cats so we were out of our room just before 10. A quick cab ride to the Mirage, then we followed the signs to the secret garden. Just a few people in line in front of us and soon we were inside. I haven't done this in over 10 years, maybe longer since
Sigfried and Roy were still performing when I went, and they still had white tigers in the spot that BLT burger is.
We watched the Dolphins for a few minutes then stopped in the picture room before go into the secret garden. You know the room, pose in dumb ways, then when you go look at the pics you're kissing s dolphin and holding a tiger. Hubby had on a green tshirt so they told him against the green screen he would look like the invisible man in the pictures but his Nike logo would show up. No biggie, we weren't going to buy them anyway. We found the 2 white lions first and of course, they were asleep. Man they have huge feet. I took a few pics the. We went to look at the black leopard, asleep too. We went back to the lions and one of them raised his head and looked at me and yawned and went back to sleep. The Tigers were awake and moving around. One of the white tigers was in his pool, then got out and went to lay in the tree. We stopped in the gift shop to look at our pics and I saw some small stuffed tigers. The girl I work with has 2 adorable little girls so I thought I'd get them each one. They were $7 ea. it on sale for 2 for $11, then with. Y gold card discount they ended up being $10. We went back to watch the Dolphins some more and there was s group doing their trainer for a day program. I'd like to do that sometime even though it's crazy expensive. I did it once at a small marine park in the Florida keys and it was really interesting, I've also don't the beluga interaction at SeaWorld San Antonio. We watched the Dolphins then sat at the outdoor cafe and had some tea and watched the Dolphins in the front pool while we finished our drinks. It was a slow way to lose $40, we were probably there for an hour and a half.
We wandered around the casino after that and tried to find $1 top dollar machines. Hubby found some and I found some cute penny machines that I'd put $20 each in to see if I could get the bonus. I got the bonus on some machine with a pelican and I got the Ellie Mae bonus on the Beverly hillbillies. I went to find hubby and he pointed at this triple stars $1 machine that a guy was getting a hand pay on. As we walked off he said he had walked up to that machine and was about to put $100 in it but ended up putting his money in the machine next to it. He ran through his $100 and got up and this guy sits at the triple stars machine and a few minutes later gets a hand pay. I told him he needed to go with his gut the next time!
We hadn't had our Vegas burger yet so we decided to go to BLT, we hadnt' eaten there in years. Service was a little slow but he our waiter did come by he was great. The burgers were really good. We'll have to remember that and go back. After we are we wandered a little more and decided to go drop the bag of toys in the room so we ca bed it back to Paris. We stopped in the diamond check in to ask about using RC's against the meals we'd charged to the room, we'd charged $40 from breakfast and $142 from old homestead. Our flight was at 5:25 a.m. so we knew the diamond checkin would be closed. I had $120 that she applied to the bill. Tuesday morning when we went to the front desk we found that she had just taken then balance of the old homestead off our bill, I was surprised. Hubby had enough RC's to cover the other charge.
After dumping our stuff we went back to play cards at PHo, we wanted to go back to the 3 card table we'd played at and hubby won at on Saturday. We sit in the first 2 seats like we usually try to and look across the table and who do we see? The lady from Canada we'd played with on Saturday. She was playing 2 spot and apparently was doing well from her stock of black chips in front of her. We both bought in for $200 and played quite awhile. The Canadian lady got up to go to the restroom and our dealer said she'd been playing four hours. I said she'd told us that she was there for 8 days and staying at PHo the whole time. She said she comes out once a year. Several people came up to watch us play, a few sat down in the 3rd spot and didn't win anything, it was just one of those unlucky seats. This one man sat down and he'd make some rude comment when she'd win both of her hands. Something to the effect of her getting his hand. No bozo, when you sat down she was playing 2 hands so no, she didn't get your hand. Another couple from Georgia came up and we're watching and the wife was taking to the Canadian lady and she told her to sit down and play. She sat in the 4th seat and did pretty well. They didn't stay long, the had a late flight to catch and had to pack. Hubby ran through his buy in so he got up to smoke. I was holding my own and when he came back I asked him if he wanted my lucky hundred that I keep in my purse. Actually it's my emergency hundred but in Vegas it turns lucky. He said yes so he bought back in. We probably played for 2.5 hours, I ended up with a purple and two blacks when I cashed out. I was happy for a $500 profit from PHo. Hubby I think cashed out with enough to pay me back my lucky hundred.
I wanted my strawberry daiquiri so we went to the diamond lounge, it was 6:30 so we missed the hot food. Hubby was smart, ordered a bud light. My daiquiri was really good but no, I had to stray to that special menu again. They had something that was blended and looked like a bomb pop. A guy at the table across from us had one and said it was refreshing. Come to the dark side Tracy, get one to go. I remember it had strawberry daiquiri, piña colada, banana liquor and whatever made it blue. It was just weird....when will I learn?
We went back to Ballys and found Andrew and I talked to him for about 15 minutes while hubby played dollar slots. I went over to him and he had his machine up almost $400. He said he was on his first $100 and had been hitting some on the machine. I put $100 in the 3x 4x 5x pay machine next to him. I played on my $100 for a long time, and accumulated 900 tier credits on that hundred. Hubby was still playing the machine next to me but out $100 in the top dollar machine behind us. He kept getting bonus after bonus. There was a lady in the big limit that got a hand pay for $16,000 on a dollar video poker machine. Sweet! While hubby was playing the 2 coin top dollar a couple comes up and she starts playing the 3 coin one. She'd get a bonus, hubby would get a bonus, it was funny to listen to the . I finally lost my $100 but not before getting enough to get the 1000 TC bump for the day, i had also gotten the bump on Sunday. I put $100 in the top dollar and what happens? Nothing, they had sucked all the bonuses out of the machine! We went to say goodbye to Andrew and the went to try the $5 top dollar in Paris. No luck so we head to the room to pack. We knew we weren't going to get much sleep. We packed and crawled in to bed at 12:15. Frankie Vallie calls me at 2:45 to tell me to get up, yay! If I'd been feeling lucky I would have just stayed up all night but I wasn't feeling it. We checked out and hopped in a cab at 4:00 a.m. Sean from presidential offered to come get us and I said no, that was an ungodly hour and I wasn't asking anyone to get up that early if they didn't have to. A quick trip to the airport and short wait at the skycap that early in the morning. When we got upstairs to TSA they only had one scanner open. Bu the time we got to the scanners they had opened a second one. By the time hubby was putting his shoes back on they opened more. We were bummed that it was too early for Ethel M to be open. Our flight only had 40 people on it so we had our own row. I slept from push back to landing gear dropping. We were home and were able to pick up the pooch from the puppy spa by noon.
This was a great trip, I love doing Vegas with my hubby, especially when when we're winning! Our next trip is mid September because it's FOOTBALL time. I've already made my first bet that Oklahoma wins the national championship, not likely but I have to make the bet every year. We have 2 tickets to The Who,which hubby has no interest in going with me. If my sister doesn't tag along on the trip and go with me to the concert I'll post and see if anyone is going to be there that weekend and wants to go with me.
