Las Vegas 2014

My wife and I made our yearly trip to Las Vegas last week. We were there for nine days. We did downtown for the first two days. We went to the D to use the half off coupon in the(MRB) for laughternoon. It was alright. That night we went to the D's Mob Bar Thursday night for a free comedy show. George Wallace made a guest appearance. Friday we went to the Riviera Comedy Club for free (ACG coupon). Saturday we ate at the Mirage's champagne brunch(MRB). That night we went to South Point and watched Wes Winters from 6pm-9pm. It's a free show. Bob Dancer sat at our table, I couldn't believe it. Sunday we saw Recycled Percussion for $20 a ticket thanks to Westies awesome deal posted a month ago. The show was awesome. Monday we turned in the other free tickets for the Riviera comedy club(ACG). Got to see two new comics that just started for the week. Tuesday we went to South Point for the Magic of Motown show. Which we payed $5 each for tickets and it comes with a rink and $5 in free play. It went from 8pm-11pm. Before the show we went to the movies at South Point. On Tuesdays they're only $5 a movie. We turned in the coupon in the South Point funbook for a free junior popcorn. The popcorn was worth $4.85. So it was like getting popcorn and a movie for 15 cents each. We saw Maze Runner. It was awesome. Wednesday we went to South Point again and saw Deja Vue. They did the same deal for $5. That show went from 6pm-9pm. Thursday we went to see Mark Savard Comedy Hypnosis for $5 each (MRB). Friday night we went to Planet Hollywood and saw America's Got Talent Live. That was an awesome show. Then that night we went to South Point for the Dirty Comedy show at 12:30am. It was funny and went to like 2:30am. Then Saturday night we saw Wes Winters one more time before heading to the airport.
On Monday we went to see Wayne Newtons former mansion. We found an add in the Sunday paper for a free tour from 4pm-8pm. So we went. It was amazing, nothing I could even come close to affording.
On Friday we went and checked out Rick's Restorations and Counts Kustoms. The two places were awesome.

For gambling we used all the free play and match play coupons in both ACG and MRB books. My wife got dealt four 8's and four 5's while I got dealt four 2's. I got a shot at the royal I was dealt 10 through K of spades and got a 9 of spades on the draw. My first straight flush. There was free bingo at Aliante M, W, F mornings. So we went and of course didn't win. We had lots of waits though. In the end we came home $850 ahead this trip bringing our winning streak to seven consecutive years in a row now.
Sounds like you had a lot of fun with your coupons, and won money also! I'm headed that way in a couple weeks - hoping to break my streak of five losing/break even trips....
Very nice! Thanks for the report!

As for Bob Dancer, did you tell him that you knew who he was and that you're VP players?

And as for that SF that you got, I think that I would be torn about it since I'd be upset that I didn't end up with the Royal Flush but then again happy to end up with that Straight Flush!

And great going coming out $850 to the good plus your good usage of the coupons and coming out ahead for seven consecutive years!

Yes RecVPPlayer, I did tell him I knew who he was. I mentioned that we go to his class every year and I have his cd to practice at home on. That's all I said to him. I didn't want to bug him.

Enjoyed reading about all the shows and attractions you saw. What a great time!
And congrats on the Straight Flush.
I'd have even been happy with just a Flush. Straight Flush, all the better!

My husband has been curious about seeing Ricks Restorations and Counts Kustoms, so now we gotta do those!
Tell us a little more about the Wayne Newton tour.

Thanks for a brief and very informative report!
The Wayne Newton tour was cool. We had to meet across the street and sign like a waiver and a small tour bus brought us across the street and into the gated area. We were dropped off at Waynes plane, hanger, and car garage. We went onto his plane and got to look around. I wouldn't mind flying in that. It was all leather seating and couches. Talk about luxury. We then went through his garage. There weren't any cars in it. It could hold up to eight cars. Then we got back on the bus and go up to his house. That house was amazing. White carpeting and chandelier when you first go in. Two spiral stair cases(one on each side) going upstairs. Two big bedrooms and two good size bathrooms. One bathroom had a nice hot tube in it. The closet in one bedroom was like the size of one of my bedrooms at my house. There was a separate closet for just shoes. The living room had a slider that went out to an outdoor pool and hot tub. The kitchen was big too. There was a fire place in the kitchen at one point. There was a separate pantry and walk in cooler(like in restaurants). He also had an elevator in the house too.
The outside had a nice water fountain playing to music. Which you could see from the second floor(top of the spiral staircase) nicely. He also had eight guest houses on property. He had stables with horses and a bunch of peacocks running around the property. We were told that the peacocks had babies. You could see some small ones running around. We couldn't get to close, they had a lot of the land roped off or security guards watching us. He also at one point had a zoo it looked like.
Even though we couldn't go and see everything we had a blast and it was free. It was a great distraction from the gambling. The only way we found this was because I'm big into coupons when I grocery shop. So I thought it would be interesting to see what coupons they had. So I bought the $2 paper. My wife was reading it when we were on our way to casinos and noticed the half page add and we decided to go and check it out. Glad we did.
Interesting! Thanks for the Bob Dancer information as well as the Wayne Newton tour information!

Thank you for writing the trip report. Did you enjoy the Riviera comedy club? Congratulations on having a winning trip. Always makes it even more fun.
Mary
We enjoyed the Riviera Comedy Club. We've been going for free for the last seven years. Thanks to the ACG book. Some comedians are better then others but we've always had a good time.
Thanks for the report, very nice! Good use of coupons, and nice description of the shows and the Wayne Newton house tour. I'm surprised so much of the property was open to tour. Sounds like you had a great trip.
