Las Vegas 5 Nights Solo December 2013

Ok, but at least for me, with the Kosher restaurants that I deal with, it's been very rare for me to have that problem of them messing things up.

Do you know what the restrictions are on the CC & Riv Win Cards deals as for how often per year that they can be done?

I remember being friends with a kid in high school (actually the Rabbi's son) who kept kosher and going out to eat for him would always be difficult. If I remember correctly he would mostly have to eat fish as his main course(obviously not shellfish) wherever we went.

I don't think I'd be willing to give up cheeseburgers, lobster, ham and bacon to ensure better service. But I'm sure that's not your motivation for doing it -- only one of the side benefits of kosher retaurants having to be more mindful/thoughtful of many dietary details.

It would be nice if servers and preparers in non-kosher restaurants would also pay attention to the small details. I would think that would help in getting each persons order correct.

Regarding allowed frequency of Wincard use at CC and Riviera, it is either once every 12 months or once per calendar year but I can't remember which.

Yes, eating out for someone who keeps Kosher can be quite difficult and even moreso nowadays when I've heard about restaurants and buffets putting in other stuff that people may not be expecting (such as into vegetables -- like Clam Juice -- I've heard that that has been done in some buffets). I am happy that Las Vegas has some Kosher restaurants so that I do have a choice if I want it. It is too bad that none of them (except for Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf) are in locations where I could get food comped.

As for Cheeseburgers, at least for Kosher restaurants, that can kind of be done if there is either phony Meat or phony Cheese (by having Soy Meat or Soy Cheese).

And yes, it would be good if non-Kosher restaurants would pay attention to the small details and not give people stuff that they are not expecting. Maybe people need to even more find out what's getting into what they are ordering. This can be very serious -- especially for people who may have food allergies. And I think that Vegetarians may be surprised at times what might be in things that they are getting. Natural Flavors definitely need to be investigated, because they can be animal sourced.

And as for the Win Cards, at least for CC, I was told that it is (or was) once per six months but I did not know if that had changed.

Hi RecVP:

Rather than rely on my memory, I just called CC Player's Club and the Riviera casino cashier that handles Wincards there.

Eligibility at CC (as your source indicated) is in fact every 6 months (not every 12 months) and at the Riviera it is every 12 months.

It wasn't an issue for me, during my recent trip as I had gotten both of them on my previosu trip in October only a couple of months prior. So I wasn't eligible to get them at either place this trip.

Shalom,

ST

Great report. I've been to Vegas over 20 times and have never set foot in CC. After reading your report I think I've made the right decision. I might have to look up Michael Cetera, really like Chicago and Peter's music. Thanks again.
