Hi everyone,
Just wanted to give you a quick report on my trip to Las Vegas from Sept 10-14
Hotel: Las Vegas Hilton I went on a package 4 nights 150 dollars including a Saturday night. I get the upgraded room due to the gold hilton status. Always a nice room at an unbeatable price for us small gamblers.
Gambling: Lvh- very weak slot machine choices mostly old outdated models. Cocktail waitresses: see slot machine comment. Cosmopolitan: I took out the players card and was offered 10 dollars in free play or a spin of a wheel that has mostly 5 and 10 dollar wins with some free buffets and one spot for 100 dollars. I asked about the 100 dollar loss deal and they said that it was also a choice. I went with the 100 dollar loss deal. I took out a crisp benjamin and started playin on penny machines at the minimum coin level. I played 5 different machines and got wiped out on all of them. No play whatsoever. What should have lasted me an hour took 10 minutes to wipe out. I went back to the desk and got the 100 dollars put back on the card. This time I found a black jack machine which I played at . 100 hands at 1 dollar per. I won 60 hands and lost 40 for an overall 20 dollar win. I have never seen tighter machines at any casino in my life. I looked around and realized there was only a few people playing slots and now I know why.
Food: LVH breakfast buffet daily free with Hilton card. Decent buffet
PH spice market for dinner one night using lva coupon. Always great. Love this place
Cosmopolitan Buffet: My buddy was smarter than I was and took the spin on the wheel when taking out the players card and won 2 free buffets. At 35 dollars each this was a nice score. The dinner buffet was superb. Great food, good choices and well displayed. They have a lot of small portions of food set out in individual serving tins. Macaroni and cheese station. Great dessert station. This is a top of the line buffet. Price however is high. A 2 for one next year would be nice in the LVA coupon book
Burger place at Paris: Cought happy hour with 2 for 1 drinks and then got burgers using the coupon from LVA. Good place. 4 choices of french fries. Lots of TVs to watch the games. Good burgers
Activities: Kayak 2 miles each way on the Colorado starting at the Willow beach marina which is located about 10 miles on the Arizona side of the Dam. Lovely spot, got bored quickly with the paddling.
Hiked up Mt Charleston. 8 miles each way for a total of 16 miles. Sadly I only did 15 and 3/4 miles as I couldnt quite make it to the top. Very cold and windy on top and I ran out of gas. My buddy made it. I should have had him pull me up.
Pinball hall of fame: What fun. we spent about 2 hours there and had the greatest time playing the machines. Try Rudys Fun House pinball game if you go. It was great.
We were going to go up to Zion to hike the Narrows however the rain flooded the area so we stayed in Vegas.
All in All another great trip to Vegas. Watch out for the Cosmopolitan slot machines.
