Chris-husband and I had agreed prior to trip our gambling budget would be $100 each a day. We would charge restaurants, shows, souvenirs, rental car. I didn't count our cash prior to leaving but we had between $400 and less than $500 for tips, daily newspapers, beverages, and incidentals We had $900 in travelers checks and the plan was to cash $200 each day so we each would have $100 each to gamble. We would attend Pinsanity at the Hard Rock and go to at least 2 shows. The following is what happened.
Monday September 2, 2013
We had lunch at BD's Mongolian Grill in Columbus. I got one bowl and Chris had 2. They usual have special on holiday $10.99 for unlimited bowls so good deal if having more than 1 bowl, $21.38 plus $4 tip. We stopped at Best Buy to buy case for IPAD so would be able to stand upright on plane to watch movie. We flew SW out of Columbus leaving on time and arriving 20 minutes early in LV. The plane was full. We had rented movie from itunes to pass time Olympus Has Fallen-was entertaining with lots of action. Also watched some of the free tv they have now on SW. Retrieved luggage and caught shuttle to car rental terminal. Rented from Dollar and got Kia Soul. Was comfortable ride, but if there had been 4 of us not sure if we would have had room for luggage, but there was only 2 of us so no problem.
Onward to the Orleans for our 4 night stay. We each had received 2 free nights, $10 food credit, and $5 slot play. They let both of us check in but told me I would have to come back on Wednesday to get my $5 slot play. We would have preferred King size bed but none available so we had 2 queen size beds and were in rm 1876 which of course was the last room down the hall. It's a private joke between Chris and I that the check in clerks consider us younger and we are always given rooms close to end of hall. It was definitely quieter being at the end of hall. We received the coupons you usually get at check in. We decided to go play some slots since they were having promotion if you got so many points you could get gift and they had several to choose from. Chris got 2 water bottles and I got 2 cups with lids and straws. I'm getting hungry so we decide to eat at Subway-Chris gets footlong pastrami meal combo and I get 6 inch cheese steak combo and we use 15% off coupon for total of $20.25 Subs were good as usual and Chris enjoyed his pastrami-they don't have pastrami sandwiches at Subways in Ohio where we live.
Back to slot playing. I didn't keep track of gambling wins-losses. We played CSI, Ghostbusters, Goldfish slots. I'm getting tired even though it is early I'm still on Ohio time so I go to rm to crash and Chris plays awhile longer. I wake up when he comes to rm and go directly back to sleep. 4 more days to go!
