Las Vegas Trip 2013-Sept. 2nd-6th Day 4

More Pinsanity at the Hard Rock on the strip. We parked at the Showcase Place for $3 instead of parking at MGM and save ourselves some walking. The breakfast buffet was much better than the dinner buffet. It consisted of pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt with fruit parfait, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, chicken and waffles. These people running this are disorganized. They had silverware and napkins on tables but no spoons-how are you suppose to eat parfait without spoon. I asked waitress who got drinks for you for spoon and she says to me when she comes back at least 6 more people have asked for spoons-no kidding! There is a lady going around to each table taking pictures-not our table she walks right by and continues taking pictures. I guess were invisible. Later gentleman named Steve stops by and asks how we are liking Pinsanity-Chris gives him earful. He offers to refund our money, and Chris says no. They introduce new pins and we head out.

It's almost 10am so we stop to see if X Rocks show is available for tonight at tix4tonight and get vouchers and then to go get tickets at Rio. 2 tickets for $54. Before going to get tickets we browse the M&M sore and Coca-Cola store. Looks like across the street next year will be a Hershey's store.

Chris takes me out to SouthPoint for free Dennis Bono show, and he is going back to Pinsanity for raffles at 2pm. There are 3 different lines and I'm not sure which line to be in and of course I'm in wrong line. While in line I talked to gentleman who now lives in LV and he gave me an earful how the shows are expensive and the performers aren't worth that kind of money. I sat in the back at table with 3 empty chairs and a gentleman asked if they were taken and I said no so he joined me and we had nice conversation while waiting for show to start. Right before the show they gave away 3 dinners for 2 at 3 different SP restaurants-no I didn't win. Dennis Bono show very entertaining with Reva Rice, Greg Morton, Clint Holmes, Kelly Clinton Holmes, Jack Jones and Gary Nussey-don't think that is spelled correctly. The show was a little over an hour long.

Called Chris to come pick me up and he said he was almost there and walked out and he was pulling up. I could tell he wasn't happy. Come to find out they had pulled raffle tickets yesterday at Pinsanity when on the program it was suppose to be today. If we had known that we would have told Steve to refund our money. Needless to say we won't be going to any further Pinsanity events. So while i was at the show Chris went to Pinball Hall of Fame-he can play for hours getting bonuses and spending next to nothing. One time we each had a mini M7M's plastic container which holds quarters perfectly and I was more than half way through mine and he had only spent few dollars, so I'm glad he got to go and play pinball games, etc.

We are meeting friend Ruthie who Chris use to work with at Merillat before they closed and she relocated to LV to work at Merillat and then 5-6 years later they closed up shop in LV. It was a good move for her because she likes to sing and does karaoke sometimes. We are meeting her at Ellis Island at 5pm and get there a little early so do some gambling. I played some Judge Judy and came out ahead. We enjoyed seeing Ruthie and ate at the BBQ which was yummy but messy. Don't remember if we went back to the Orleans for awhile or went to the Rio and gambled for awhile prior to show.

Lined up at the Kings Room for X Rocks at 9pm for show at 9:30pm. We have general admission tickets which have row GAO seats 21 and 22. I thought general admission you showed up early and when the doors opened you sat yourselves. I must be wrong because person took you to seats. Neither Chris nor I liked this show. To start with the seats we had were on the side and you couldn't see that side of stage plus whenever the girls were on floor you couldn't see them. There was alot of down time when they were changing sets. One of the girls had no energy at all. It's pretty bad when the show is what I call a booby show and even hubby says it sucks. Our recommendation for this show is Don't Go! I'm considering writing Rio a letter about how bad this show was and about the terrible seating. Back to the Orleans and to bed. Will finish report tomorrow.
Thanks for this report!

Sorry to read that Pinsanity was so bad all around!

I'm happy that you made good use of Tix4tonight. I've seen their ads and taken a look at prices when I've stayed at Four Queens and maybe I'd use them if I had an interest in any show -- it's been several years since I've seen a show. I do know (and you should keep your eyes open for them if you don't already use them) that there are coupons for $2 Off of the Service Charge for Tix4Tonight in some of the LV Freebie magazines (such as "Vegas Values Coupon Booklet" as well as "24/7 Vegas Magazine").

I think that the last show that I saw was Shintas at Rio when the LVA POV had a coupon for 2 Free Admissions (this was about 10 years ago).

Thanks for the report! I enjoy the Judge Judy slot also. Played it here in MN last week and came out ahead. I always stay at the Orleans and enjoy.
Wow, sorry you had so many disappointments on this day! Hope it's better later.
