Las Vegas Trip 2013-Sept. 2nd-6th Last Day

Got up and decided to eat breakfast at the Courtyard Cafe at the Orleans. Chris had the pancake sandwich and i had the deuces wild special-food and service wonderful. Chris had thought about going to Hard Rock Cafe by casino for LV local pin collectors meeting and breakfast buffet but decided not to go. We needed to print our boarding passes for flight home and Chris asked at desk and they printed them up for free. They do give you a coupon to use at business center solutions but there hours are 10am-4pm during week, and 9am-noon on weekends, so yesterday was to late to print and today to early. Checked out-no problems and loaded up the luggage. Luckily we had some large ziploc bags we filled with ice to keep our Ethel M's candies from melting while sitting in car. Even with the ice and having them in those special bags a few chocolates melted. Still tasted good once at home. Flight doesn't leave until 5:40pm and rental car needs ret'd by 3:30pm so we have some time.

Went to Gold Coast to use $10 slot play coupon-played awhile and then played some at the Palms. Decided to go check out Disney store at fashion show mall-was disappointed. They don't have much for adults in t-shirts, etc. Drove up the strip for one last look and headed out to the Hard Rock Cafe by the casino so Chris could see their new pin for LV. He bought pin and I got t-shirt and pink guitar charm for bracelet. Well it's time to start heading towards airport. Gas up car at Rebel for total of $28.01 and go down the road a little bit to get sandwiches from Subway to eat at airport. Return rental car to Dollar for total of $104.89 and catch shuttle back to airport. Didn't have to wait long to check luggage and walked right up to security where they check your license and boarding pass. About 4-5 people in front of us for carry on checkpoint. Usually the lines at LV airport for security are like waiting in line for Cedar Point coasters. Both ways security line was very few people. Got to gate and got a couple of waters for outrageous price of $6.19-I'm glad we stopped and got sandwiches. Our flight left late about 35 minutes. Flight out was full and luckily flight back had 50 empty seats so Chris sat by window and I on the aisle with middle seat open. We watched the free tv on way back. Once we got to Columbus airport Chris hopped on shuttle to go get car-parking total $20, while I got luggage and he ret'd . We loaded luggage and stopped to fill up gas tank, got something to drink and we pulled in driveway at 3:15am.

Random thoughts. Chris had cracked his fibula in left leg and had been in cast for about 6 weeks and got cast taken off a week before we went to LV. We didn't do as much walking and going partly because of this. I won't say never again but 4 nights not long enough especially when not taking earlier flight on day we arrived. I wish I would have kept track of our gambling to see what we actually won/loss. I missed not going downtown which we usually only do for one evening to see light shows and to just look around. I forgot to mention we did go to Bellagio to see flower display-beautiful as always. We did not end up gambling $100 each per day. In fact we did not cash any of our $900 worth of travelers checks while in LV and promptly put in checking acct when ret'd home. We also ret'd with $175 cash. We did charge almost all of our meals, shows, souvenirs. Enjoyed our time at the Orleans-free room which included internet and no resort fee.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to post trip reports. You never know what piece of information or idea that someone is reading may help them plan or change their mind about what they want to do in Vegas.

Thanks for your report and if you were able to bring back most of your Travelers Checks, then I think that you both did pretty good!

And it sounds like you mostly had a good trip (except maybe for the Pinsanity incident)!
