I'm not sure if I mentioned, hubby lost all his parlay bets but won his straight bet. I lost all my parlays and on 2 of 3 straight bets. I told him we needed to stop being greedy on those parlay payouts and just bet straight games.
Sunday is our last full day. I was hoping my bonus TCs would be posted today so I could leave with my newly minted diamond card. On Saturday I got an email from total rewards about 3:00 telling me I had earned the 125 extra on Friday so I was hoping for my email Sunday afternoon. Sunday we decided to hit the Paris buffet for breakfast, they have this ham at their carving station that I could eat all day. It's just like what my dad used to make before he discovered the spiral hams @ Sam's Club. We got there about 10 and used the platinum entrance so there was no wait. I stood in a short line for an egg white omelet then went to the craving station for ham. Everything was great, as usual. No trip to the buffet @ Paris is complete without a trip to the crepe station for a berry crepe. Sometimes I like dessert with my breakfast.
After we ate, hubby was still feeling the sting of his football losses so he wanted to go back to Bellagio to find the top dollar machines he did so well on in July. We played awhile there, not able to recreate history. We didn't even check out the conservatory! We decided to cab down to TI since we haven't been there since the day before MGM sold it to Phil Ruffin. It looked the same to me so we took a cab back to Ballys. Since I had earned my news status, hubby wanted to make sure he was at least Platinum. I thought we both had made platinum On our trip in July and when we lit his card in a machine, we realized we had. We played some slots, then i played let it ride while he played more slots. I had a good run, it seemed I was winning every other hand. When I won, the guy next to me won, he called me his lucky charm. Hubby came by and pointed @ a 3 card table and said he was going to play. I cashed out with my buy in and went to play 3 card with him. After we finished that we went back to the room for a little while. Around 4:00 I suggested we go to the total rewards booth and see if my points had hit, woo hoo, they had. I got my new card and the lady gave me a list of the free shows for september and she told me it took a few weeks for my $100 dining credit to kick in. I looked @ hubby and said, "let's go to the diamond lounge" so off we went. We got a table, I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc and hubby got a margarita on the rocks. They had hot food out so we tried the mini beef Wellington (they had chicken wings too) and had some veggies and tried some of their desserts. It was fun to celebrate my new status, I know, little things make me happy.
A little later we decided to have dinner @ Sugar Factory. I wasn't really all that hungry so i ordered a small salad and bowl of tortilla soup. Hubby had something but we can't remember! The soup wasn't bad, but nothing you get in Texas, it was more tomato-y based. Not bad though. I was freezing cold so we went outside and stood below the Eiffel tower, I got a few neat pictures shooting straight up. Hubby wanted to play 3 card @ Paris because he said he doesn't do well @ tables @ Ballys so he played there and I played let it ride. He cashed in and I said I wanted to go back to Ballys so we walked down to ballys to play some more, not planning to stay up too late, we had a 4:15 wakeup call and our driver was picking us up @ 5:30. We found a 3 card table in the area that our friend Andrew the pit boss was working and played a little while, then cashed it in about 11. I told Andrew I'd see him in November when I'm coming with my sisters.
We head back to the room, not so many sausage dresses on Sunday night. We get to the room and notice there's a concert going on by the pool @ Cosmo. We open the little window vents and turned out the lights so we could watch a little of it on their big screen out front. As we sat I realized who it was, it was Enrique Iglesias! We listened to several songs before packing our bags.
Last ritual, count your money and see who has to buy Ethel M, pay to get the car out, pay to get the puppy out and buy pizza when we get home....again, I was hoping for the hubby 2013 trifecta.......drum roll......damn, I had LOTS more than he had! Football, for once, had not been good to him. Oh well, I knew it couldn't last.
Flight home was uneventful, I'm always asleep by the time we push back from the gate and wake up when the landing gear comes down.
Side note. Last week hubby gets an email from total rewards. They are giving him 3200 tier credits to help him achieve diamonds status. I had read about thus happening to people on LVA before. The email said they were adding it to his TC balance as of 9/10. Our trip was 9/13 to 9/16. We knew he had over 7,000 TC's when we left on the 16th so a few days ago he checks his account and sure enough, he has well over 10,000 now. So now it looks like I have a new mission in Nov, get him to diamond. Normally we wouldn't worry about it but he and his friends from high school start turning 50 at the end of next year so they're planning a big trip. We're not sure that it will be at a time where I can go so he'd like to have the perks even if I can't go. Like I said, I didn't gamble any more dollar wise this trip than I normally would have, I just concentrated more time to get the bonuses. In November we don't get there til late on Friday but I'm there til Monday so I shouldn't have a problem. I booked a comped room in the Jubilee tower, I'm anxious to see the changes.
Thanks to all that take the time to post reports and thanks for reading!
