My mom and aunt live in Las Vegas. This is a good excuse to take multiple trips yearly, and include Hotel stays with visits to relatives. I had to get away in January, so I went from 4-8 for a breakaway trip. My aunt turned 90 last week, and my Mom, who lives across street, 84 -2 days later.
My sisters and cousins were all going for the birthdays, but I wasnt because fares were high. Im getting notices from a web site(air fare watchdog) when the ohare-vegas prices drop, and on Feb 11th. bingo I get a notice of $105 round trip on non stops for the days over the birthdays. I go to spirit web site and the flights were there, so I booked. I was going to surprise them all, because they knew(thought) I wasnt coming.
I quickly went to Thrifty web site, and lo and behold, got the city special rate of $11/day for car. Its all falling into place. Then I called Sams town, and lo and behold, they said they would comp the two nights I needed.
Weds 2/22
Got 630am flight out from Chicago on Aunts birthday. Rental car without hitch. I was in my moms driveway at 9am. Rang doorbell and freaked them all out.
I went to aunts to surprise her and cousins,had a nice visit and then on to Sams for 2 nights. Got to Sams about noon, smooth check in, and on to gaming.
I usually play nickels triple or five play, and single line quarters VP. As an out of towner, I needed to get my Boyd Sapphire points on this trip, to lock for another 12 months. After pounding it in January, I needed 6000 base points to get to Sapphire.
what a great play trip. I ended up getting 8000 base in two days atBoyds properties and secured my Sapphire rating. I usually play DDB poker, but I sat down next to a guy playing Super Aces. He explained that any 4oak aces pays 2000. I watched him get one sitting next to me. OK. Im switching. I played all afternoon and got 3 of them, which gave me all kinds of play time. ended up going to bed after an just OK dinner buffet just about even.

Today was going to be a golf day, and then back to my Moms for a turkey dinner with mom, aunt and sisters. I had a 1pm tee time. I slept in. had a decent comped breakfast at TGIF and I was out the door to Valet. On the way out, I notice that the triple plays were $2600 for dealt royal, and $250, $650, and $275 for the royals. OK Ill bite. I toss 20 in. and after a quick $15 gone, I get 4 to royal with a flush. I dumped the off card, took a breath and drew. Didnt hear anything, but I saw JACKPOT on top line. not the big middle payout, but $275 none the less. YEAH!
Headed out to golf up and happy about it.
Got to have a great home cooked meal at Moms, and when I got back to Sams, I gamed until 130am on their dime.

Left Sams at noon, even for trip. thats a rarity. Headed to Stay at Moms for two days as tomorrow is her birthday.
The ladies decided they wanted to go downtown for the seafood buffet at Main Street. We got there at 430 pm, and the line was around to the bar. Friday and Lent. We had line passes, and went to VIP line, but that also had about 25 people in it. All in all, it took us only 20 minutes to get through line and seated. I would never have waited in other line. We ate. It was good, when we left 45 minutes later. People that arrived the same time as us in the regular line, were still in line. absolutely crazy.
The ladies decided to gamble there for 2 hours. I went up towards Valet and found a triple play game that was calling my name. Two hours later, I got tapped on shoulder by Mom. Are you ready she says? I look at counter, and Ive got 2200 credits on machine for my original $20 buy in. I start counting the 4 of a kind cards, and there are 15 of them.
I never got a royal or aces in the run, but two hours of play and 15 -4 oaks and a couple Straight flushes. and plenty of those slot Points.
We then headed out to Orleans, for another 2 hours, and I gave them the money back, but got a lot of play, including a super aces hit for 2000 nickels.

Today is moms birthday, and my sisters planned a a brunch at Planet Hollywood. My sister's diamond rating got us in fast, diamond section and used her points. (the degenerate)
Had a decent brunch, Champagne was primo. Lost my butt at casino. This reminds me why I hate the strip and gambling at strip properties.
We hit the silverton and south point later in day. Silverton was just Ok. lost a little
Southpoint was great. Went to a movie. (Saw Ghost rider sequel... Hated it) I then went to five plays near the coffee place. for a $20 invesment, I played for hour and a half. Got 2. super aces and cashed out $175. All in all, not bad.
Caught the 130am red eye back to Ohare.
3 night/4 day trip with a tremendous amount of play and lots of fun. only spent total of $250. . Cant wait for next one.
