Late, but LONG trip report - Pics added 5/27

I'm so glad you had a great winning trip, especially considering the circumstances. Kudos to you for allowing the memories to add to your trip, instead of detracting from it.

Solo trips are a special kind of fun, I meet so many people when I'm solo in Vegas. I usually end up with more offers than I have time, and I'm glad you found several groups to hang with, although it sounds as if you enjoyed your alone time as well.

I'm so sorry on the loss of your husband, you really honored his memory reconnecting with those memories and enjoying them.

Diane - yes the new memories add to the old ones but never replace them.

Mary - yes I felt safe all the time downtown, but again that may have to do with my early morning & afternoon playing times.

When I moved to the strip it was a bit different and the first time on the monorail was a bit nerve-racking but that may be because I've never been on any mass transit train, subway or monorail (except Disney World, but I figured that doesn't really count). Kansas City is more of a bedroom community and I've always driven to work for 35 years.

A really strange incident in Harrahs was about 4 young (20's?) asian men RACING the wheel chair scooters through the middle of the Harrahs casino. Security chased them after they almost ran into a little old lady using a walker.

If you plan a September trip, I'll be there Sept 8th thru 14th and would love to meet you. Thanks so much for your words of encouragement.

Nice trip report. Thanks for sharing. Mirage is not player friendly. I found that out a few years back. They don't get any of my action anymore. My wife and I are also going in September ( 3-7). We 're going to stay downtown for a change of pace. I've narrowed it down to the Nugget, D, or Plaza.

Definitely stay at the Nugget - I've never had an issue in any part of the casino nor hotel in over 20 years of playing/staying there.
