Laughlin info

We're heading out to Lauglin mid July.  Can anyone provide info on what's open, closed, restrictions?  staying at Harrah's.

thanks,

Ray

Harrah's has at least seven team members with positive covid-19 tests. They claim to not be accepting reservations due to their coronavirus social distancing guidelines. That's until July 27 brcause they say they're at phase II capacity. The Aquarius may have team members testing positive, but they're hiding the numbers. They say that they don't give out medical information on their team members. They're not denying the claim that there have been team members testing positive for covid-19.

There are no entertainment venues open. No buffets open. No movie theaters open. No good food specials. Removal of good video poker machines and downgrade of slot club benefits means they've taken all the fun out of Vegas and Laughlin.

Best of luck and stay safe.

I got email offer yesterday for Harrah's Laughlin, dates in mid August.   Not planning on it, so I haven't called to check it out.

Have you ever been to Laughlin in July? It routinely reports the highest temperatures on the planet.

There's no decent games there (whatever you like to play) and comps have tightened drastically; cheap rooms are a thing of the past. You'll be at Harrah's, which is isolated at the south end of the casino row. It's not within walking distance of the other casinos, especially when it's 115 outside (and that will be even higher when the sun comes up), so you'll be stuck there. That's when you'll find out how expensive and mediocre the food is.

I strongly advise you to stay home. You will NOT enjoy it.

thank you all for the replies.  i especially like "its 115 outside, even higher when the sun comes out".  Have any of you had the charter flight/hotel stay deal cancel after you bought it?  Seems like i'm taking a chance going to a local restaurant or WalMart here anyway, just wondering.  From what you guys are saying it is going to be a little lonely there.  If you have any info on the cancellation for the package would like a heads up.  i'm looking forward to going, so frustrating to be taking trips to buy groceries just to get out.

They are allowing no-penalty cancellation within 72 hours, versus their usual 30 days.   Our trip is mid August, so I just checked my letter to be sure I'm saying it right, and certainly your deal will be the same.

I'd say just don't expect too much and you'll be fine.  You've been to Harrah's Laughlin before, right?   I predict they'll offer the same welcoming atmosphere as usual, even if everything isn't up and running.  If you can just enjoy the games without expecting too much else I'm guessing you'll be fine.   I've never taken any of the day tours, but that's a consideration (if any are up and running) to kill some time if things are really slow.  I like Laughlin just fine, negative comments from others notwithstanding.

If you've never been, it ain't Vegas.  But then, right now even Vegas ain't Vegas yet, or so I read.  Have a "first time ever to a casino" mindset, and you'll enjoy the time.  I'm hoping, anyway, since we go in August!

Edited to clarify that when I wrote I was getting offers for mid August that I wasn't signing up for, that was in reference to someone doubting that they were taking reservations.  That offer was just room, etc.  We are booked on August 20 charter.  Gotta love the "free" flight!

Candy thanks so much.  we've been to Laughlin several times and on the Harrah's trip offering.  We understand the conditions won't be like before but we're looking to get away, do some "investing" and overall have some relaxing time.  anyone been to the Tropicana or Golden Nugget?  understand that some casinos have shut down or are temporarily down.

Looking forward to your trip report when you get back.  Good luck.

Any last minute info on Laughlin?  heading there Sunday.

Laughlin is in Nevada, south of Las Vegas.  One suggestion, you might be a little more specific with your request, unless my info happens to be what you're looking for.
