LV 7/28-8/1 at the Ho!Day Three

SAT 7/30:Woke up about 7:30 am w/mild headache and found Rick sitting in one chair w/sunglasses on and Lori in the other, texting. Rick's headache was a little worse than mine, Lori was fine w/no hangover at all, of course. She can drink like a fish and never feel bad the next day!She was going back to Cali. this afternoon because she had to help another friend Sun., who's mom had died earlier in the month, and who was trying to go through paperwork, etc.. I still felt guilty,and upset, about the night before and just kinda wanted to lay low. Also, wanted to give the kid a chance to feel better and get his sea legs back. Ordered room service bkfst for the 3 of us to share: 2 continental bkfsts plus extra toast. Figured some carbs and coffee would rejuvenate us and it did, to the tune of about $50 later. Lori pitched in some $$ so it cost use each about $25 for bkfst, ouch!Hung out for awhile and had a good, sober, visit before she had to leave. Said our goodbyes until our November meet

Rick and I kicked back in the room for a couple more hours, resting and watching TV. Then, we decided to get dressed and go to Cosmo and City Center where he wanted to show me an Auburn at the Crystals mall and his favorite art display at Cosmo: a steampunk-themed air ship model in the ballroom area.Pretty cool and we had a good time just hanging out. Went to dinner at D.O.C.G. for pizza. Was really good and had great service. AFTERWARDS, walked past the hallway and decided to see what was in there w/the pinball machine. HOLY HELL!!! It was the pizza place!!! WHY don't they have a sign??? Oh well, our dinner was really good if more expensive. We decided to take the tram to Bellagio and visited the conservatory. Beautiful as usual and had a good time. He wanted to go to the Forum Shops and I wanted to play at the Cosmo so we parted ways. Didn't watch the fountains as it was too hot to stand there and wait.

Walked to the Cosmo and signed up for the Imagine card. Got $10FSP and was told play for $100 rebate wouldn't count until after midnight (can't do 2 promos in 1 day.) They never told me about the slot tourney if you earned 100 pts though!Wanted to play FSP on Buffalo machine but, for some reason, you can't on that machine. Found another with gorillas and lost it. Played the $5 I had originally put in and cashed out when $10. Cruised the casino until I checked on the kid and made sure he was safe in room for the night. Returned to Cosmo and played for a little while after midnight and left knowing I had at least lost $100. Back to the Ho and played a few machines on way back to room. Lost,lost,lost and made trip to ATM.What? Card not working? Called bank and was told system down for update for about an hour. Phew! Not my card after all. Went to bed down but tomorrow's another dayAaah, sweet sweet bed! Kid was asleep but woke up when I walked in. Ended up watching TV and looking at the view for awhile; good times!

Enjoying your trip trip report. Glad you got to hang out with your BFF and your son is okay. He must think you're a really cool mom for taking him to Vegas.

Thanks, but I still feel really bad about what happened. He's not the kind of adventurous teenager that would normally try to drink; or at least he hasn't had the opportunity being we live so far from town and don't keep alcohol in the house.He sure learned a lesson about drinking though. I don't think he'll ever want PF Changs again either. I thinks it's best to keep my LV trips w/friends an adults only event. Rick's bored w/LV anyways.

Maybe when he's 18, you can take him to Morongo Casino (which is out Palm Springs way) where gaming age is 18 but drinking age is still 21!

But that's the only casino in that direction (and there are five other casinos out further East of there but they are all 21+.

But yes, alcohol is not good for teenaged bodies to handle! I think that their bodies aren't matured enough to necessarily handle it!

He did learn a lesson and he learned it on his own. Think back to when you were a teenager. Kids are curious about the 'forbidden fruit' and tend to want what they can't or shouldn't have.

I'm not a big fan of PF Changs but I like their sister restaurant Pei Wei.
