LV 7/28-8/1 at the Ho!Going Home!

MON 8/1: Up at 8 and checked out and to car by 10. Stopped by IP to eat bkfst at HHAGG; used coupon and points to cover shared corned beef hash and brown sugar banana pancake. As usual, very good but too much food. Walked it off at the Auto Collection but I had to take several rest breaks. My lower back and hips were starting to have major pain again and I was having a hard time walking. Made ot through and saw some new cars that son really enjoyed seeing; especially a new Audi concept racing car. Left IP and headed home w/brief potty stop in Mesquite.

Made it home w/no problems. Ended up being bedbound the next day as I could barely walk. My back had siezed up overnight. Good thing I only had 2 patient visits that I was able to re-assign and take the day off. The next week was spent trying to recover. I guess I need to avoid summer trips as my RA is always worse w/the monsoon season. I may meet Lori in November (she'll be in town for a teacher's convention) but I'll be leaving the kid at home. Another friend, whom I had lost contact with during our college years, just contacted me and may meet us as well.

As for trips w/my son, we have other trip plans to Eastern Utah, and other family trips so LV not in the forseeable future. I definitely cannot have him in mixed company w/a drinking friend who will give him sips. I haven't talked to her since but the fault doesn't really lay with her anyways. It lies w/me as I didn't watch and prevent him from drinking. He's a great kid, a teenager any mom would be proud to have, and deserves better.

Thanks for reading, Tracy
Thanks, Tracy for all that you wrote and I'm happy that you came home with a lot more $ than you arrived in town with.

Sorry that you also had your pains to suffer with and I hope that you are better by now!

Tracy, thanks for sharing. Congrats on the wins at Cosmo and Southpoint. I can tell you're a good mom who has a good kid. Try to let the incident pass and go on to the next adventure.
Hope your back is feeling better and I look forward to reading your next trip report.
I agree with MissL7777, it was "one of those things" that happen in a teenager's life. No damage done and you both enjoyed some fun time together. Of course you're a good parent, a bad one would have left him in that awful hot parking garage...LOl! Part of growing up is making mistakes and learning from them....he just learned a new life lesson this trip!

Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the report. I get like you by the end of the trip. I can't believe that I am so excited to get there but by day 3 I am ready to go back home. Thank you again!

Some ups and downs in your TR. I think all kids try booze at one point way before they are legal. I think he learned a good lesson. Thanks for the TR.

It's worth your minor guilt for the great story he gets to tell about his first drunk in Vegas!!! with mom... really-- teasing stories like that will cheer you in later years. You're a great Mom to be that concerned.
Thanks everyone. That's what grandma said when we told her. But, definitely not gonna happen again! BTW, you guys don't EVEN want to know what I was doing at his age; he surely won't
Thanks for posting the interesting TRs. Don't let the one night spoil your trip with your son - he learned his lesson and you were there to help him feel better.

I was in Vegas last week & checked out the Cosmo for the first time. I specifically looked for the hidden pizza place. Fortunately, I happened to check out the hallway with the pinball machine which indeed led to pizza. I asked about the $100 loss promotion when signing up for Identity, which was not mentioned until I asked about it. I was told it was a "secret promotion". Secret only to LVA members, I guess! After posting my loss, I played my $100 free play on a $1 Double Diamond machine - and cashed out with $109 - a whopping $9 profit.
