LV Trip Sept. 1st-8th, Day 4

Today we are checking out of The Orleans and will be going to the Silverton for Friday and Saturday nights. Ate breakfast at buffet, $9.44-Chris had $10 food comp with his stay. It seems like there was some type of promotion once you got 10 points on card you scanned your card and got extra points. I played Village People and ended up $7.00. Back to room to get packed up and check out. Chris called Silverton and they allowed us to check in early, but since room with King bed not available at the time had 2 queen beds with view of pool.

We went downtown, parked at El Cortez, and walked to Mob Museum, $39.90 with each admission $2 off from coupon found in magazine. We were there for 4 hours. It was a lot of reading with pictures, and some short films. They had the wall from the valentine's day massacre. Thought was very interesting but too much info for one day. By the time we got to the end I was tired of reading which was sad because at the end they had pictures of mobsters, with what they did, if they went to jail, when and what they died of which was very interesting and I by that time I was burnt out from reading. They also had special exhibit on the FIFA soccer scandal which I didn't pay much attention because I'm not a soccer fan. Bought magnet at gift shop, and also had rounded up to next dollar for donation, $9. I think that is a neat way to get donations rounding up your purchase to next dollar, plus don't have to mess with change. Walked back down to El Cortez and Chris played $10 free play from LVA MRB on Munsters and ended up with $10.05. I played Village People with my own $10 and played for awhile and ended up with $10.05, basically keeping my money.

Decided to eat at Carnegie Deli at the Mirage since we had Vegas rewards BOGO sandwich. My bad I should have asked some questions about sandwiches. We ordered sandwiches, fries, each got soda, and bill with coupon $27.53. I do not like rare looking meat, was going to get roast beef and asked and was told medium rare so I decided to get ham sandwich. Didn't think to ask whether sandwich would be warm, have cheese, etc. Chris ordered pastrami. We sat down, and I actually was cold and traded seats with Chris because I was seating under vent and cold air was blowing on my back, was some better. Was beginning to wonder if ever going to get our food, was over 20 minutes. Was told the hold up was the ham sandwich. We finally get food and ham sandwich was served cold, no cheese, and this is why it took so long to get our food. Did they have to go slaughter pig for my ham! I was not happy camper, like I said I should have asked some questions. Needless to say I thought place was overpriced and rip-off. We won't be going back.

Next we went to Zombie Apocalypse Store. Wanted magnet with Starbucks looking woman holding guns that says Zombies, Guns and Coffee. They had pin and decal but no magnet. So bought pin and decal and he gave me discount on the lesser item, $5.41. I have no idea why he gave me a discount other than I think he thought they had the magnet and helped me look for it and couldn't find one. I'm not sure if this will work but I'm planning on making pin into magnet. Next to Excalibur to play kids games downstairs. Chris and I played horse racing game where you have a golf ball and roll it and depending what hole it goes down advances your horse, which horse gets to end first wins. Chris of course won, and I got smurf-it'll probably end up being used for target practice. We decided to play again so I would have a second chance to win, Chris won again and since we played with young boy we gave him the smurf instead of upgrading to bigger smurf-our good deed for the day.

Next to The Orleans to see Air Supply, not sure but think was $45 using BOGO coupon from ACG. There was variety of ages at concert. I was surprised how many younger people were there. Enjoyed the concert. After the concert we ret'd to Silverton. Played some slots, lost $20 on Titanic-no bonuses, played Planet Moolah-small hits, no bonuses, Beetle Juice got bonus and moved to a new Puppies slot and won some, tried Planet Moolah again and still can't get bonus, back to Puppy slot and ended up down $4.90 for day. Chris ended up down $40 for day playing Goldfish. Getting late so time for bed.
I loved Air Supply in my (and their) younger days. I'd have enjoyed the concert.

OMG I didn't know there was a Zombie Apocalypse Store! Good luck making the magnet.

I love that insurance commercial where they won't cover much of anything except "Earthquake, volcano damange, a zombie apocalypse."
Thanks for your Day 4 posting. I remember going to a Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum (Odditorium) and finding the information to be just too much for me to take in at once.
