March Anniversary Trip

Our 2nd trip of the year was for  9 days.  We flew Allegaint for 278  round trip for both of us, and rented a car from fox for 255 all in for the 9 days.  The VW Jetta was a great car.  We got in late monday night and checked in to Excaliber For one free  night but had to pay the resort fee  .  We did get some free play so we went down to play for awhile at the center bar and had some good cocktails and made enough to cover the resort fees and called it a night.  We  stayed at Excaliber 20 years ago and thought the room was just as nice.  Great bed and quite room and slept great..  We hadn't been in the casino for years and thought it was much improved , and better than the Luxor we stayed in back in dec.

    I will post more tomorrow.

Thanks for review. Hasn't been years that I stayed there. Was fine in the 1990,s. Haven't considered because not sure if it has been maintained.

Day two we checked out of Excaliber and headed to blue berryhill on w flamingo for breakfast. We split the hamsteak and eggs with hashbrowns and the bluebery muffin toasted . Great as always, Then it was off to the Orleans to start the day of playing at the boyd properties for the 10 times multiplier day.  No hits at Orleans so we went to the Gold Coast to check our live leno tickets from last trip.  We did 100 games with 10 spot way tickets for quarters last trip for 75 bucks and cashed out with 66 dollars.  We were close to something so we ran another 40 games playing 6 spots.  We played at Gold coast until we could check in  at 2 for 2  comped nights. No big wins or loses.  Then we went out to Alliante to get our game on. We love the bars out there and made a couple hundred each. Ate happy hour at the bistro for the first time and had the meatball sliders.  They were great and we used some food comps  to cover the bill. Diffinately will go back  We played until about 8 and headed to the Santa Fe for dinner at Latica.  Great tacos at the bar, but was told they no longer can comp the margiritas. I'm guessing that will be temperary, because they comped anything else you would order. We played in the new high limet room there and each cashed out an extra hundred before heading back to the Gold Coast for the night.

Day 3 wed.  Checked our 6 spot keno tickets and did not do well.. Spent 30 and cashed out 8 bucks  Deciced to do 4 spots for another 40 games, then off to the Westgate for the buffet useing the Lva coupon  Good buffet for the price. Omlet station was great , as was the fresh fruit and bacon, and shrimp.  The carving staion was pretty dry, but salad bar and deserts were good.  Nothing fancy, but good value with the LVA coupon.  We self parked for free in the sportsbook lot, but Edso says they are charging now.  We Played at the front bar and had some mimosas and won 20 each.  Nice bar with good service.

Next we went to Park mgm for some cocktails at the center bar, and met some nice people while playing.  We each made a couple hundred and decided things were to busy on the strip so headed to Palace Station to play in the high limit bar.  We had some nice wine and stayed about evenbefore having diner at the Charcoal Room for half point wed.  We split the chopped salad , bacon wraped shrimp, 10 oz filet and baked potato and were stuffed.  Great value with using half price points.

On the way back we stopped by the Rio for a night cap, but most of the bars were closed after 9.  I made a little money playing Whittney Hoston and the with lost playing the monoply train game and we called it a night.

Blueberry Hill!  There goes a month of trip planning.  I may just have to add a day to my trip!

Keep 'em coming, I love trip reports.

Day 4 thursday we checked  our keno tickets and cashed out 28 bucks so a 2 dollar loss.  Overall i think we lost about 65 on the 4 sessions. we checked out and hit the Virgin to sign up for the new players club.  No freebes, but points seeme to add up pretty quick.  The old rewards club was a joke.  We just played enough to say hello and then went to the Palms for the 5x multipier until noon. We actully hit some stuff on the monopoly train game and I hit 3 quads playing 3 way poker.  We got enough points on one card for the 2 free buffets and there wasn;t much lineright at noon.  Great bruch with crablegs and steaks.  Also smoked salnom and pealed shrimp along with the standard buffet food.  They also had made to order pork or brisket tacos.  Very good I would recomend going after 11 to get the better food options.

We headed  to Green Valley Ranch to get our drink on and check in for the next 3 nights .  All 3 comped with 125 in free play, but no food credit this time. We were both about even at this point in the trip so we started playing dollars, which was a bad idea in hindsight.  We did happyhour at Boteglia and split the ceasar salad and meatballs for 16 dollars , but used points.  very good.  More drinks and more dollars and no hits were a bad combination.  We took a break and went to the cafe for the 5.99 cheeseburger special, with fries.  It was very good.  We decide we needed to do some 10 spot way keno tickets to get our money back.  20 games at a quarter a way. And then we were going to slow our roll and stop the bleeding.  It seems like we have one bad day each trip where we just can't hit.

Day 5 friday we slept in and made some sports bets and then headed to .  The Pass for breakfast  We were both feeling a little rough so we just split eggs and hashbrowns with bacon and toast.  Pretty good for 8 bucks. We played for a few minutes and then went next door to the Raibow club.  Rainbow was good, as we both cashed out up about 40 bucks, but nothing big. We decided to go to the Clark Co museam on boulder highway and get some fresh air and some excercise.  This was a much bigger place than we expected, with probably a dozen out buildings, and some walking trails.  I would diffenately recomend this and it is only anout 2 miles from the Rainbow club. We then headed back to Green Valley Ranch for a Caprioties philly cheesesteak and watch some games at the Side Bar.  We were still playing it slow after losing the day before and ended down a little for the session. We cashed out our keno ticket for 8 dollars and decided we were done for this trip on the live keno.  Dinner was at the Cafe for the cheeseburger special using our points and we called it an early night.
