Martin's Trip Report

I've copied and pasted Martin's trip report here. Tgere's some good info and taking advantage of the many goodies offered for seniors (50+) on an ongoing basis in Vegas.

Here is the detailed results - the good, bad, and ugly of it all.
> Began at 6863 base Tier, ended at 20, 701 (earned 13, 838 - mostly vp,
> some slots, and some Bingo<?> not sure how tier pts counted).
>
> Overall trip : Came home +120 more than what I brought (so covered
> expenses, gas, etc - a few meals I ate out incl Applebees in Victorville,
> a break from the LA traffic, and Barstow Del Taco 50th Anniv Tshirt - ya
> gotta see it!).
>
> Boyd Goodies: Dunkin Donut Coffee, Lunch bag (GC) for work, Vodka-given
> to my dad, Beach Umbrella, Young At Heart T-shirt, Wine glass holder
> (Xmas gift for stepmom), various notepads (ST/Orleans), Closet space save
> hangars, and $5 cashback (GC). ST - had different amts of freeplay based
> on previous days play - all recycled into more tier pts....
>
>
> Sat - good traffic, arrived at Silverton around 10am. Played a little
> (10x pts was for SLOTS only, later I found out), and 1st miss - 4cd RF in
> Spin ugly 2s, got zippo! ($600 woud've been a great start to this
> trip!).
>
> Sam's Town - earned 578 pts total (200 only needed for the free coffee 1
> lb bag at ST), Broke even 9/6 JB (at so-so $1070 rf), but then lost -60
> on QQ (378 played so 85% return range). QQ would be a drainer for me
> this trip.
>
> Played 3 hrs live poker (+50 bonus As/full or higher hourly), lost
> minimal -12. -11 on nickel blazing 7s by poker >$80 jackpot (later I
> noticed it hit by $83).
>
> *Boulder Station 5pts for bonus swipe : won $5 on NSUD - slants by
> sportsbook give full pts! - and extra $4.50 in cp pts (4500).
>
> To 7541 Tier. Sun-Wed Heavier Play at ST gives 1% (+$5 Freeplay every
> 500 base, up to $50 for 5k - I never made that).
>
> Sun - 1500 base / All ST ($15 fp rebate on Monday).
> **Started out with NL AM tourney win ($130 for 2nd place, but should've
> split 200-200 at heads up!), although I had 3:1 chip lead, blinds too
> high, and final hand my all-in covered Ace-4 offsuit lost to J-8h, when
> the Hawaiian sr lady turned a Jack, and I missed pairing the ace.... $70
> mistake not to chop.... lesson learned here. Although 3rd place guy
> insisted on continuation of play (big chip leader who busted out in 3rd
> for $85.... bigger mistake costing him about $90 difference!).
>
> I thought this would bring me luck, but ST vp has not been kind to me.
> 9/6 Prog ~1100, -$60 in 400 pts (very few wins, perhaps gave up too soon?
> $ACE$ BP - still no 4k -35 more in 100 pts only! (65% short run return!)
> horrible
> JW (Joker Poker upstairs near Bingo- other side past 9/6 progs)
> 4700-17-7-5 game ~ 98.5%. -40/160 (75% return)
> Net of -33, if not for NL win, but only 660 pts (horrible 75% return on
> vp). No quads is the issue here.
>
> Boulder Station break - -3.75 this time and only 1.50 bonus pts (1500).
> +$6 (6k station pts) and +1.25 in short run for future.
> Sidebar = Early AM Silverton run (100 or nothing promo): At least they
> TELL you up front you might swipe and get -0-, which is exactly what I
> did. Unknown $100 FREEPLAY winners given away, though.
>
>
> PM - lost -60 QQ#2 (You'd think I'd stay away from this by now 5play
> nickels!). 9/6 JB -50 more on 400 (still no quads, so 85-88% return).
> .50c did better for final pts to reach 1500 (only -$5/150 pts).hmmmmm
>
> About -150/1500 (really -250 in vp play! - if not for the NL win...)
>
>
> End Tier : 8957, and about -350/2K vp, can't keep that pace, or will
> end up down more than planned!
>
>
> Bonus Meal of the Day - decided to put on VS card for bonuses. Daily
> Specials at TGIFs - check them out sometime. Using comp pts though cost
> 1000/$1 vs 600/$1 here.

>
> GC #1: 2030 pts (830am - 1130am - missed Bingo session 1, planned on

> Net of +$21.25 on 1600 ++ hands of vp - THAT's more like it! And so
> many close calls : 3-2s a few times, 4cd RF once or twice
>
> 1pm Bingo - I paid $45 for a bonus 'I' pack, which included sm/lg
> rainbows (diff colors paid diff prizes), and some blue member bonus packs

> Red Bingo card paid $100 normally, but this was a 3x payout win ($300)

>
> GC #2: Continued to play at 5x pts, still too early to check in

Thanks, JMan, for posting Martin's report. It was good hearing from him! And you can tell him "Good going for ending up with some profit after his unfortunately bad losing periods!" I actually met up with him many years ago. We even met up for a class on Pick 'Em at Castaways Casino (formerly Showboat) in Downtown LV.

Also, you can tell him that for me, I prefer not to play any game whose Variance (Volatility Rate) is any higher than about 28.5. It can just become too brutal otherwise.

Nice to see a report from Martin.......but Jon, you still owe me a drink at Rincon one of these days for the days of headaches caused by getting swept up into your superb trip reports......of which i read all of them within the last 30 days......haha. Keep up the good work.
it's probably me but i couldn't get through this format. just a bunch of lines of stuff.

I had no problem reading Martin's report as long as I disregarded the ">" sign that's to the left of everything.
