Martin's Trip Report - Day 6 Final

Day 6 of 6 – Thursday Oct 9, 2014

Hi all: The final day is here. Most likely, I won’t be back until next year, in spite of some good offers. I need to build up ‘time off’ from work, and this is our busier work season. At least I made my goal of Sapphire, really not as hard to make 25,000 as I thought it would be. ST had a final promo today (Thursday) that was enticing enough to play a little more….

Every Thursday in October B Connected members will receive point multipliers.

11X Points on Reels

7X Points on Video Poker

20X Points on All Buffalo Slot Machines
Restrictions apply, see B Connected Club for details.

The 7x on VP was what we saw, and with the Stagecoach Prog now over $1800 (it hadn’t hit, but might later when Thurs night fball crowds here), we decided to play a session on the way out. We ate at the bkfst buffet one last time. Checkout wasn’t until noon, but we washed up and had everything ready to go by then. We weren’t intending to play for more than an hour or so…

My dad was holding his own, when he tied me with his 2nd set of ducks in those bartops. I wasn’t doing as well, getting 2 nat’l quads, so I did the natural thing by switching to DB and promptly hit 4-7s to salvage a minor (-40) loss over 1.5 hours.

After cashing out 300K pts ($300) for my profits, I still had a balance of 62,772 in comp pts for next time ($62 or $100 at ST outlets).

Tier score : 35,215, so I surpassed by 10K, should be valid well into August next year!

On the way home, we stopped by the Baker Thermometer, repaired and working now. I wanted to check out the Mad Greek Café (opened here in Baker, and one in Primm).

The newly repaired and now working giant Thermometer in Baker, CA

When you think Greek food, your first thought must be Baker, CA.

So it was quite a successful trip.

My dad definitely had the best VP wins of the trip : 2 Royals, 2 Dbl-Deuce wins at $500 each, numerous regular deuce sets of wins (2-3 daily). He even cashed out $85 at the end, since he wasn’t sure when he would return. I calculated, even with 15x/7x pts factored in, he may have played around 20-25k over the 5+ days. Blazing 7s wins included $400 twice also, but a lot was recycled back to try to win the $6K jackpot… Guess we’ll leave that one for next time. JMAN?

I witnessed the DualDaub $48K jackpot at South Pointe; Just couldn’t quite hit that big one. I’m glad to have been lucky again in Bingo – hitting on the ONE HotBall G-48 at Sam’s Town for $626 split win.

Other memorable moments: YAH drawing win, and on the same day 2 sets of ducks for me! Penny slot wins at the GC. $100 cash grab win.

Fine food at Billy Bobs. Bellagio display.

Good vp friends and company, too.

Missed: ST water/laser show – under renovation for Fall.

Minor gripes: Needing to print kiosk tickets for obvious prizes and buffets that could be electronically tracked instead with ID and/or Pin#. The technology is there, but I guess they need to account for everything- or at least keeps someone busy tabulating all these kiosk coupons thru accounting.

Minor wait in lines for the Buffet on YAH days; To be expected, only Emerald gets the ‘fast seating line.

Even with 5+ days, seemed to go by too fast. Was not able to play as much poker as I would have liked, or explored Bingo in other places. That’s ok, though, as now I’m aware of the competition – just pick up the Bingo Bugle news rag in the Bingo Room to see what monthly promos are going on around town… (or check online).

Gas – still costs less in NV vs CA. I stayed at my dads to wait out So Cal traffic – still fairly heavy even after Thurs Night fball at 8pm. Got home to San Diego around 10pm.

Martin.
Thanks for the final report and photos, Martin, and thanks once again to JMan for posting it all!

I always like stopping in Baker, but mostly on the way in because at the Country Market which is right across the street from The Mad Greek, in front of the store is vouchers for all kinds of LV discounts and other stuff plus some of the LV Freebie Magazines.

This is where I can start getting ideas about what offers are going on and you never know what may be in them.

As for Bingo, at least I know that Plaza has a Bingo Room and I think that they may have some kind of promotion going on there as well, so check into that.
