McCarran no curb side

Meant to tell in my earlier TR something everybody probably knows.

Right now, at least, there is no curb side check in at McCarran.  You have to go inside.  We'd used curb side for years, easier, quicker.

Now you must use the kiosks inside to tag your bags and get your boarding pass, then drag them to the check-in counters.  Have your reservation number ready to enter into the kiosk.

If you skip that step they direct you to the "full service line" which is longer.  At those you get your boarding pass, they tag your bags, etc.

McCarran was pretty busy on our flight date last month.  The kiosks do cut down on the previously long lines inside.  I wonder what happened to all the guys that ran those curb side check-ins.  They were great.  And we always tipped, which I'm sure they relied on.

Might be an effort, like kiosk-printed baggage checks and boarding passes, to reduce public-to-staff contact.

Doesn't concern me. I'm not crazy enough to fly until everyone has been vaccinated, myself included. I MIGHT have considered SWA until they could no longer control themselves and started selling middle seats again. Apparently, it takes 15+ minutes of close contact with an infected person to have a 50%+ chance of catching it. Sitting cheek-by-jowl next to another person--less than six inches, never mind six feet away--seems to me to be the perfect recipe for infection.

No thanks!

Me and my brother (Water of Life) were in Vegas last weekend. We stayed downtown.
Plan and Prepare ... LVA forums, U-Tubes (Steve "Not Leaving Las Vegas), have a pre-trip itiineray and rent a car.

Resign yourself to higher minimums at the tables.

Slots seemed to let a guy play but no real big hits.

Masks strictly enforced and many table games had partitions or limit on seating.

Impressed by the security.  Lots of "presence" and security checks at the entrances.

Circa is all that is advertised and more. We loved walking around the place and "wowed" by the Sports Book.  Victory Burger, JackPot and the VSin radio booth were highlights.

We went to every casino on Fremont. Disappointed that MSS still closed.

Sports betting was a lot of fun with plenty of places to view the games.

Service worker, cocktail waitresses, dealers, and pit bosses super friendly.

Overall we really enjoyed ourselves ... If you can't have fun in Vegas, It's your own damn fault.

meeting Mitch and Pauly from Visn was a highlite of the trip. Casino bathrooms were very clean. Going to Circa is a must.

Yes, thanks for regularly reminding us what a good person you are. It's so easy to forget what an excellent character you have what with everything else that's going on.
