Arrived Fri eve at 9pm. Limo driver was waiting at the bottom of the escalator and luggage arrived after a few minutes. Short drive to the Cosmo and the rest of the VIP experience was a bust.
Walked ourselves to VIP check in and were ignored for a few minutes until a different person came out from the back and acknowledged our presence. The one gal stood at her terminal with no customers the whole time. Just kept her head buried and ignored us.
Got our room #32-78. Very nice one bedroom wrap around suite. On one side the balcony overlooked the Bellagio fountains, and the other PH and the strip. Strip and club noise were not a factor. In on an RFB offer so the mini bar is not off limits. It never was restocked during the weekend, so we ran out of Diet Coke.
Had an offer booked at Monte Carlo (MC) for a suite, $200FP, and $100 food. Walked over, checked in and went to the room to put out the do not disturb sign. Nice room, 22302. Elevators and hallways pretty dirty though. Booked this room for the pool, so it is mainly a changing room for the weekend. Couldn't talk any friends or family into a free stay.
Walked back to the Cosmo and dumped a couple grand at VP before calling it a night.
Saturdays schedule was pool, spa, STK, Love ( the show).
Walked to MC with a pit stop at Ross to buy some forgotten articles. Girls went to the cafe at MC for breakfast and I went to the high limit room to use my free play on the $5 job. Dealt a straight flush A-5. First W-2 of the weekend. Sunday I was also dealt an A-5 sf. Why couldn't one of them have been A-10? Oh well. I still managed to lose for the session, and headed out to the pool. Nice day in the 90's, but a little windy.
Left the pool at about 2pm and back to Cosmo where the girls had appointments to get their hair done. I took this time to ride the 202 bus west on Flamingo to Wells Fargo to reload. Doh! Actually I still had some money, but with the way things were going, it wasn't going to last, and I didn't want to pay the credit card atm fees. In about an hour and a half I was back.
I'll get all of the gambling details out of the way, since there were no really exciting hits. I play all VP anymore. Normally I play $1, but I have been on a winning streak for a while, so I can afford to dabble in $5. I like to play the bar tops at Cosmo. I start at $5 job and if I get it to $1k, I switch to $10, and if I get that to $2.5k I switch to $25. I managed to get to the $25 level a few times and hit a 4oak once for $3125. Played some spin poker and was dealt a straight flush at the $1 level for $2250. Overall, had about $20k in w-2's. At one point Sunday afternoon we were down about $9k. All of the big hits were Sun eve to end the trip down $2.6k. I can handle that, but the 9k would have been an ugly hit to the bankroll. Put 70k pts on at Cosmo, and made Platinum at M-life.
With the girls all dolled up we headed to STK, the steakhouse in Cosmo. Excellent. Filet was perfect, tuna steak was great.
Took a cab to the Mirage to see LOVE. I believe we were in Sect 202, Row M. I'm not at home right now, so I don't have the ticket stubs to reference. Everyone really enjoyed the show.
Walked back to Cosmo and continued the bleeding in the casino.
Ate breakfast in the room. The fruit platter was very good.
The rest of the day was gambling and shopping.
Had a 7am flt Monday morn. Went down to get limo at 5:30, and it wasn't there. Thankfully a very helpful valet attendant made phone calls and got the limo there, albeit now very late. Gave him half the drivers tip. He was one of the few bright spots in the overall Cosmo experience. Made it to the airport and got the bags checked with a slight look of shame from the airline employee for being so late. Made it home on time.
Our overall Cosmo experience was less than stellar. I made platinum a few months ago to see how they were. At platinum some of the perks are an arrival amenity (never received it), VIP check in, and "deluxe turn down service". Now I normally don't even want turn down service, I just don't like people coming into my room at night. But as we were walking home from LOVE, I was talking to my wife and saying how the bed should be turned down when we get back, and how I was wondering what the deluxe was. Alas, there was no turn down service, deluxe or otherwise. These things, together with some other minor issues over this trip and my last, prompted a call to my host.
He apologized and said they have been having problems with housekeeping.
Sun night the bed was turned down. That was it. No chocolates. Nothing. Still don't know what the deluxe is. The only thing we could come up with was that the spread was folded over twice. I guess if you don't get deluxe you only get one fold. Lol
One thing that my host says is not normal was the number of very drunk, obnoxious 20 somethings all over the resort. Even the elevator rides were uncomfortable. He attributed it to the holiday and a UFC fight.
We'll probably give them another chance, but won't expect much.
Sorry, not the detail of the better reports, but that's me. Quick and to the point.
