Mesquite June 11-14 and July 23-26

Well twice in a row the drive thru LV on I-15 north during lunch hour didn’t touch the brakes once – it’s been decades since that happened.  And in June the drive home on a Sunday zero slowdown at Primm, July cut thru Death Valley 115 degrees where I was pretty much alone wonder why?  June Primm looked closed, Jean looked closed, and from the freeway looked like whoever was actually in LV had a nice shady parking spot because the lots were empty.  July maybe just a few more people, but dead.  Stadium looks done from the outside.  June, masks on all the staff, optional on the guests, and yes the bars were a little crowded, and unconcerned – maybe because just a few miles away is Utah, and they still are protesting masks?  July different, all machines on the floor open, but partitions in between.  All bars closed, even though they also had partitions, but the Gov said bars are closed.  I fail to see the difference.  Talking with staff, seems face shields are ok “if you have a medical condition that precludes you wearing a mask”, and the staff is not allowed to ask questions about your medical condition.  My personal opinion is the only thing a face shield will do is show everyone if you just sneezed, and neither protects you or others.  However, staff was allowed to boot anyone not wearing a mask correctly, over the nose/on the chin/under the chin/et cetera.  Noticed some customers thought if they were between plexi partitions they were safe and could unmask.  Ya know, if it’s airborne, and you can smell someones cigarette (or vape) then guess what?  Oh and June housekeeping might throw a couple new towels into your room.  July nothing.  I imagine if you asked, but I didn’t.

Interesting.  Thanks, jeepbeer, for reporting.  So we need to pack towels now?  LOL.

My takeaway is that the casinos are still horribly unhealthy and dangerous if people are allowed to smoke and not everyone is wearing a mask. Nooooooo thanks.

Thank you for the report.
