i don't use capitals. lazy. plus c i feel wordy tonight. might be only the first night.

flew out of milwaukee wednesday 4-13 on airtran. my sister paula works at the chillis too as a waitress.
had breakfast there and stiffed her the tip. no..$5 on an $8 breakfast.

flight took off on time, wonderful smooth flight, until we get close to vegas. i read it would be windy today. yeah, it was. i was in reno last month and had the worst take off i can remember. 48 knots winds. i was spooked on this flight on the landing. it seems the pilots know what they're doing because we landed safely.

took the car rental bus and went downstairs to dollar. i was out of there in five minutes. on the way down i looked and saw two dozen people waiting in line for cars. just sign up at dollar.com to join. it's free.

looked on the computer screen and saw i was in slot 21. went to my impala that went from $180 two weeks ago to $90 total the week before i left. had 27,000 miles on it. very nice ride.

hit the liquor store that begins with an l on the east side of las vegas blvd on the way to m to pick up mai-tai mix. m is giving us rum this week. as an aside, i was the only one who used half of my rum with part of the bottle. left the rest in the room.

take the strip to m. i like to see what's going on without the highway. check-in at 11:30. lady says i'm booked for strip view with two queens. i tell her i'm the first one here of the seven of us and can i steal
someone's king room. she says yes, on the seventh floor. i take it.

went to the room. i realllllllly like the mmmmmmmm. took pictures that i don't know how to put on this report. very nice room.

i am giving you a blow by blow of my first day. sorry.

unpacked and went to hash house a go go for lunch. i've been to the one at imperial palace, so i know what the portions are like. had a regular bloody mary and the meat loaf sandwich with no sides. just ate the meatloaf and part of the bread. very filling.

went to play vp. not the biggest casino but the machines are new and comfortable to play. won $50 on bonus. went to check out the business center to see if i could send daily tr's llike i did in reno. no. it's $1 per minute to use the internet with a 5 minute minimum charge. not. i'll take notes and do this.

hit the casino and played 3/5 .25 bonus. played for a bit and hit this..........like i said, i don't know how to
download pics. hit a club royal on the top line for 1000. i did take a picture. this was at 2:00 pm.

what was nice is i was looking for the floor people to come pay me and look for tips. the machine just
kept ringing until i slammed it. no people=no tips. is this typical for a less than 1200 pay out? i was at
harrahs a few years ago and hit $800 on the ddb machine and had three people show up. anyway.

played vp the next few hours. lost $300. the other guys started to get there. they were primed to
gamble. i went to the oyster bar for supper. sat in front of the chef who does the sushi. asked him what
i should have. he recommended the raw oysters from out east. fine by me. ordered 1/2 dozen. they gave me 8. also had a california roll and a beer. bill was $34. charged to room. believe it or not, first time charging anything. i like to pay.

saw the guys. they're gamboling. i played craps, vp, slots, and ended up playing bj which i don't like to play. i think it's boring. and i play vp! next thing i know it's 4:00 a.m and i'm playing with people who know each other and seem to play at this time every day. i think i won a few hundred but it's fuzzy. finally to bed.

i'm done. thursday, friday, saturday maybe tomorrow.

Looks like a great beginning! Glad to see that the plane landed fine. Great price on the car rental. It was a nice start with the royal. Hope your luck continues! Yes, it is nice that you don't have to wait or tip when you get a $1000 royal.

I left (driving) for home on 4/13 at night and I can definitely vouch for the fact that it was quite windy. It was hard driving home and I could only safely drive by going 40-60 MPH.

As for going online and/or writing out TRs in LV, the cheapest place I know for that is Las Vegas Club where it's (I forget) either $0.20 or $0.25 per minute with a $1 minimum if paying cash.

And congratulations on your BP Royal!

thursday, 4-14

up and out at 10:30. i felt okay even after what i did last night. i also
realized i won $245 at bj last night. huh.

went to babycakes for an apple danish, juice and coffee. just right.

bruce, joe, this joe's son-in-law adam, another joe, tom and rick are
all now in the casino. four are playing bj and i can see they won't be
leaving the table for a while. if we were on the strip i'd be wandering
around looking at what billions of dollars builds nowadays. i went down
and sat at the pool for about 1/2 hour. yesterday there was a cool wind,
but today it's beginning to get warm.

went back inside and lost $150 on various vp. tom and i are checking
into harrah's so i can get $50 and tom $100 tomorrow. the bj players
are ready to go; so, around 2:00 we all drive to the strip and park at
harrah's. tom and i check in. we both get two-room suites. what a
let down after staying in a regular room at the m.

the bj players start playing at harrah's. i walk over to caesars to collect
my $400 on my packer super bowl win. 7-1 odds at the time. i entered
through the shops on the south side of caesars. as i passed the sports
memorabilia store mike ditka was sitting just inside signing things. i
didn't look to see what he was charging. there was a nice crowd there.

exited caesars and walked through the absinthe grounds. they let you
walk around and buy a beer hours before the show starts. i asked the
ticket booth person if i wanted to come tomorrow for either the 7:30 or
9:30 show would there be tickets available. she said yes, since it's a
new show there's always some to be had.

walked to bally's for their premium margarita. they were out of the
good tequila and had been for a few days. i had a different one, but
it wasn't that good.

walked through bill's and saw big elvis. he was in fine voice. not a
large crowd, but they were appreciative of his singing.

walked through flamingo on the way to harrah's. the hallway to the
steak house is closed off, and you also can't get through the doors
by margaritaville. anyone know why?

found the bj guys still playing. i went to casino royale for a $1 michelob.
it's a tradition. i played .25 ddb for a bit and had jerald come up to me,
shook my hand, and asked if i could help him out. he'd just been released
from prison and needed something to eat. probably not, but i've frittered
away money before and gave him $5 and told him not to let security see
him doing this and to stay out of prison. he thanked me and God blessed me.

we all then headed back to m. at 8:00 i hit 4A with a 4 on .25 ddb. at 8:17 i
hit 4 threes with a 2 on same machine. played until 9:15 as we had
reservations at veloce at that time. i left with a $362.25 profit.

veloce is on the top floor. i had tomatoes and buffalo cheese and then
rigatoni with the meat sauce. it was very good, but i didn't take into
account the time. too heavy of a dish for 10:00 at night. four of the
guys had steaks and they all were a bit overcooked. the waiter took
one off the bill. it's a beautiful view from up here. there's an outside
seating area. i get the willy's, so i stayed away from there. also you
can taste different wines like they have downstairs in their wine bar by
buying a certain $ amount and choosing which wines you want. it looked
like you get a couple ounces. i didn't try it.

after dinner the bj guys did their thing. i played 'til about 11:15 and
went beddy-bye.


friday, 4-15

7:15 out and about. played vp and won $100. tom calls and we
head to ellis island for steak and eggs at about 8:30. good as always.

we go to harrah's for our $. i leave with a $32 profit. don't know what
he did. we then head to caesars to gamble for a bit. i played .05 100
play bp and lost $250. moved to a $1 bp machine. lost another $150.
i was going to set my loss here at $500, but said to myself the heck
with this and stopped at $400. harrah's ain't no m.

we walked over to planet hollywood and sat outside on the railing
at the cabo wabo and had two waboritas each. very good. just
enough. the star wars troopers were below us for a while. then
jack sparrow was holding court until this young guy comes with
three largish snakes. you could get your picture taken with the
snakes on or off you. some people had them around the back
of their necks. i haven't seen this guy before. oh, batman also
walked by.

the other five guys met us at the earl of sandwich inside ph.
they all liked their food. only $5.99 for a sandwich. with chips and
a soda you can fill up for $10.

we all played at ph. i played a bit on a .25 bp machine that
paid five for two pair. harrahs ain't the m.

everybody lost here. we drive back to m. i went to the pool
for about an hour. it was hot but not too. not a lot of people
at 5:00.

i played vp for a bit and lost $100. went back to the oyster bar
and had a shrimp/crab roast. this was very good.

winding down.

played craps for two hours and lost $50 on a $5 table. they
always had a $5 table open. had two beers playing vp at
the beer bar and left even except for the tip. sat next to a
young guy who was originally from boulder city but now lives
in alaska. he works in the rec department in fairbanks.

played more vp and lost $100. played craps 'til 1:30 and
won $50. hit the bed at 1:30.

oh. joe and his son-in-law used the workout facility today
at m. mike tyson was there with some girl that he seemingly
was being her personal trainer. they didn't bother him.

saturday, 4-16

up at 7:30. i wanted to leave at 9:30. had to bring back
the car and shuttle to the airport. checked at the desk
if i owed anything. i did charge that one meal, but it
was taken care of. remebered i had $20 free play today.
nothing came of it. redeemed another red wine and gave
that to joe and/or tom, whoever had room in their suitcases.
ate a fast buffet just to use the coupon. got two chocolate
chip cookies at babycakes with the $5 coupon they give you
if you don't use maid service. i was by myself, so i didn't
need my room cleaned. left $5 for maid at the end.

got to airport in plenty of time as airtran didn't let me
know they changed the take off 40 minutes later.
sort of windy again at take off, but it smoothed out
after five minutes. nice flight. landed in milwaukee
to a wet 34 degrees.

i called rick last night, sunday, to see what everyone
owed for the dinners. he charged them to his room.
he didn't know yet. we'll get together friday 4-29.

he told me i was in third place with my $800 win.
one of the joes was up $8,000 at one point playing bj.
i don't know what he ended up, but he could not lose
most of the trip. bruce was second. he's a good
friend, so i won't say what he won.

joe with the son-in-law lost but won $600 at the
airport waiting to leave. tom lost but i don't know
what. rick could not win. he plays mostly slots.
i don't know what his tally was.

that's it.

oh. never made it to absinthe. if i was staying on
the strip i definitely would have. i just didn't want
to drive at either 9:30 or 11:30 back to m.
