More Triple Double Wild Cherries

Sorry to back track but I mixed up some things Sat. morning. First stop was MGM, we haven't been down since they took the lions out so we wanted to see what had changed. Poker room had moved (temporarily?) and it seemed like they had taken a lot of their machines out. Hubby found a $1 Top Dollar close to the high limit area and out his $100 in. He seemed to get the bonus round every time I walked away from him. He was probably @ that machine for 30-40 minutes and had a good run, eventually cashing out $500 up. That's where he started his $$ making for the trip. One time I walked away and a lady was playing the $5 Top Dollar machine and she hit a bonus, I saw her turn down $165, $120 and eventually had to take the last offer of $25. What was she thinking?

Ok, back to redemption.....?

Sunday morning we used the MRB coupon for the spice market buffet, used TR's for the rest. We went before it turned into brunch which was fine, cheaper and all we really wanted was breakfast anyway. it was pretty good and our server kept the coffee and tea full. After breakfast I saw the KISS slot and said "I'm playing this til I get the bonus". I out my $20 in and ran through it, no bonus. $20 more, surely I'll get the bonus. About halfway through I the bonus, not really impressed. I'm a KISS fan but I have to say I liked the bonuses on the old Queen Machines. We never have much luck @ PHo so we head out. Off to the Bellagio to take pix of the conservatory with my new camera. Got some great pictures, now just need to figure out how to upload them! Hubby finds a $1 Top Dollar and I find a penny Elvis. Put my $20 in, play long enough for 2 glasses of champagne (and we all know how long it can take to get a drink @ a machine @ Bellagio!). I cash out at $30' hey, anything is a plus at this stage of the game. Hubby was up $50 which was good since there have been days he's funded at least one fountain show with his donation!
So let's go see IP, oops, the Quad. Hmm, it seems the only thing different is the new sign out front and the new entry. Same old, same old inside, so we left. We walked past Flamingo and decided to play some 3 card at Harrahs. We buy in for $200 each and get some good hands, I get my first straight flush in 3 trips.....redemption? Hit a 3OAK on the 6 card bonus, things are looking up. Cash out with my buy in + $200. We move to the let it ride table and buy in for $100. Really don't have luck there so I happily leave Harrahs with $100 of their $'s.
Back to Ballys to piddle at slots, I'm still up (for the day) buy the time we go to dinner. 7:30 ressies @ Ballys steakhouse, $100 comp + 15% off coupon that was in our folder when we checked in. They've changed their menu since we ate there in Sept. We ordered the small Caesar salad, I ordered the filet, hubby had NY strip. Dinner took a LONG time to come out, not sure what happened but our dinner and the people who came in about 15 min after us and sat next to us, both orders took forever. Not the norm. Our waiter came out and apologized and dinner was soon served. We had shrooms and mashed potatoes as sides. Both were good but the potatoes had a weird texture, like they were over puree'd. Steaks were really good. They brought tiramisu for dessert for hubby's b-day, hubby not a fan of coffee so I ate most of it. Dinner ended up taking 2 hours.
We decided to try our luck @ roulette, I'd gone through $100 before I hit anything, not good. Let's go back to 3 card. As I was walking by let it ride I noticed a couple from Saturday playing so I sat down and played awhile. I hit a grew good hands so then moved to 3 card with hubby. FYI, Jerrod's party pit @ Ballys no longer has the hoochie dancers. Still have the music but the dancers from there and the Indigo Lounge are gone. Not a concern to me! 3 card not my friend, no redemption today. Well tomorrow's another day, and it's our last.
Oh and by the time I went to bed in had officially lost more on a trip than I EVER have!

Monday Monday, can't trust that day.....sorry a musical interlude. We get up about 8:30, not really hungry so we take our time getting ready. First stop was going to be Rio so we could go to the Godard gallery to buy his new painting. I got an email from them 2 weeks before the trip for the new Bat-tini and the moment I saw it I told hubby I had to have it. My folks divorced when I was 7 so happy family memories are few and far between but I remember as a little kid in Houston my mom would tell us we had to clean our toys and stuff up before Dad got home or we couldn't watch Batman. I loved the old series with Adam West! Anyway, the gallery normally opens @ 11 so we hop in a cab and go to Rio. The gallery wasn't open so we wandered for a few minutes while we waited. They opened, I ordered it to be shipped and we were off. Hubby has done well playing 3card there in the past so we looked for a table. There was no one playing so www wandered around looking for slots when lo and behold, right by the sports bar I see it, Triple Double Wild Cherry! What the heck, I've put $100 in every other machine I've seen. I sit down and the TDWC symbol lurks around enough to keep me interested. Hubby walks up and asks how I was doing and I said I'd played a half hour on my $100 and I'd been down to $18 and up to $200 so I'll stick around awhile. A few minutes later the 3x wild cherry hits on the first pay line, another 3x wild cherry hits on the second pay line, AND......3 orange bars lands on the 3rd pay line. SO close to $5000 but no. We look at the payout for the 3 orange bars and it says $80 but neither of us can figure out just what I'm about to get paid. The ding dinging finally stops and it says $720! Oh happy day!I think that's the biggest payout I've ever had on a slot. I end up cashing that machine out at $900 so I have $800 of Rio's money tucked away in my wallet. Hubby plays the machine next, only to $100 profit but at this point, a profit is a profit. Back to 3 card, each buy in for $200. There are 2 other guys @ table, one had just taken a $5k marker and he had no idea how to play? He and his buddy were betting between $25 and $50 per bet. The buddy gets dealt 2 full houses in a row on the 6 card, while marker man jet seems to be giving it away. I am dealt a nice 3OAK and get a few on the 6 card. I also get dealt a straight flush. Hubby has doubled his buy in and I'm down to just $100 up and realize it's almost 3:30 and we haven't eaten all day and I'm famished. We cab back to Ballys to use our MRB @ Le Burger Brasserie, paying with RC's. Very good but next time we need to remember to split fries or rings. We go back to the room to rest a bit and count our blessings. Hubby had more than I did but my friends at Rio had at least started to dig me out of my hole. We went back to Ballys for more 3 card and about 11:30 we decided we were gambled out. Back to the room to pack.
Hubby and I have a deal, whoever has the most $$ the last night of the trio has ton buy the box of Ethel M candy @ the airport, pay to spring the Springer from the puppy spa, and buy the Mr. Gatti's pizza for dinner when we get home. This was the FIRST time hubby has had to pay! I was thrilled, being that he usually accompanies me on at least 2 trips a year, sometimes 3. He was happy too. By no means were we UP when we left but we hadn't lost much and we took it to play with so it was no big deal.
One bummer of the trip, our driver from Presidential didn't pick us up Tuesday morning. I called him and texted him then left a message that we were taking a cab. He called while we we on the road and said when he found out he couldn't pick us up he turned it into the dispatcher and they goofed and scheduled the pickup for Monday. We've been using them for 3 years and this is the first snafu so I'll give them another chance on our trip in 2 weeks. I have a Bingo tourney @ Ballys, I have a room @ Flamingo which I'm curious about, haven't stayed there in about 12 years. It's just a weekend trip but I'm bringing my niece and one of my sisters is coming, she has a red room @ Paris so we'll probably stay in her room
Thanks for reading. Oh, and if you know of any triple double wild cherries on the strip that I haven't played, let me know! I know there's a $1 machine @ Mandalay that I've played but we didn't get down there this trip.
Thanks for posting your trip report. Nice job on that win at the Rio. We stayed there last October, and left plenty of money behind, glad you got some of it!!
Thanks. I forgot to mention that somehow I am already over 2800 tier credits towards my 2014 platinum! My trip in 2 weeks is a short one, nut I'm back in April with a different niece for Bon Jovi and staying an extra day so I could possibly have my 2014 platinum by the end of
April! Those are the only planned trips so far, but hubby and I always go in Sept., not sure if Diamond is a possibility, it would be my first
So glad you finally had a decent hit at the RIO, my favorite place! Will have to look for those triple cherry machines! Thanks for sharing your trip, enjoyed the read very much - both parts! Gail from MN

Thanks for Part 2 of your report and good going on not ending up losing that much after working your way back up!

Great report! I LOVE Wild Cherries and Double Wild Cherries, but they haven't hit for me in a long time...used to be able to count on them every trip for a good score. Congratulations for that excellent hit!
