Muscleheads invade Las Vegas

This was a solo trip. I am a "fitness freak " and have always wanted to go watch the Mr. Olympia which is held in Las Vegas every year. This last July when we were driving around Vegas during our summer trip I saw the billboard advertising the Mr. O and said one of these years I'm going to see that". Well my better half said "go, stop saying one of these days and go". So as soon as we got home I booked it. She did not wish to go with because one muscle head at home is enough" lol.

Flew SW from Tulsa, and as usual no problems either way. Just wish they had bigger seats or were not always packed. Picked up my Nissan from Dollar,$11 a day and headed to the Bellagio, our base resort. 3 nights comped in a suite and food and beverage, love this place.

Friday headed to the expo at the convention center. It was packed. Every company involved in fitness had a booth and were handing out swag, I left after 3 hours with 15 tshirts, and to many samples to count. when you walk in they hand you a large trash bag size bag and you leave with it full several times over and I skipped any booth with a long line.
Saturday was the big show at the Orleans. It was the 50th Mr. Olympia so it was very special. They had several past Mr. O's speak and Arnold wouldn't shut up and of coarse he said "I'll be back" when asked.
Phil Heath won for the 4th year in a row and it was a very good show.

I didn't gamble much and gave back what ever I won.
Most of my meals were either room service or the Buffet and Bellagio excels at both.

Quick fun trip.
Thank you for the report! I'm happy that you had a nice time and were able to finally take care of one of your wishes (to see Mr. Olympia).

Hopefully your not gambling much will not decrease your offers.

Enjoyed the report very much. Never heard of the Mr. O contest.

Love Bellagio too. Room service (anywhere) I used to think of as the option of last resort, until I tried it a few times. Now it is almost my first choice, especially if the hour is late and crowds a-plenty. But then, peace and quiet is my top dining priority these days.

You've been a Bellagio regular for some time, so I doubt your comps will suffer.
I am so glad you did that. We all need to work on our lists of "things I always wanted to do" before it's too late. One thing on my list is NYE in Las Vegas. Maybe next year.......
