My 2015 Spring Trip Report

Royal Flusher REVEALED (and my Spring trip report)

This is practically an ad for LVA coupons because I used many of them.
In part this is what gave me the ability to stay two weeks.

Thank you very much for the interesting report as well as for the great photos (especially those of my favorite place, Downtown LV)! And good going on the coupon and other perks usage!

Maybe you can complain to the LV Taxicab Authority about your basically being refused a ride to El Cortez from the Plaza with your mobility issue!

Since CET/Harrah's is in Bankrupcy, it does not surprise me one bit that they have not good paying machines.

As for Video Keno, Las Vegas Club (and Plaza might have some at the bar as well but I'm not sure of that) plus El Cortez has some that for 4 Spots pay 2-5-100 for 2, 3 and 4 hits. With your hit on the machine at the D, I can see that it was on the kind of machine where the pay schedule for 6 spots is 3-4-70-1600 (this machine for 4 Spots pays 2-5-91). The 2-5-100 machines would be paying for 6 Spots 3-4-75-1660. I do know that between these two pay schedules, at least for 4 Spots, the 2-5-100 pay schedule returns about 2.75% more than the 2-5-91 pay schedule. To confirm that, the Wizard Of Odds website has a Keno Calculator that you can just input the pay schedule in and see the return, Variance and other good information.

So how did you end up doing money-wise? I know that those nice hits helped -- especially in Downtown where your money is more likely to go farther!

You have given me an idea.

I have also retired (one year ago), and not only realize that there is no overtime in retirement with which to quickly recover from a losing trip, but also the evil appearance of health problems which, of course, sap a good bit of our money. Almost like God knew I would go crazy gambling and is helping me see reality and slow down.

Anyhow, the thought of staying in Vegas longer than a week always seemed like...impossible, the money can't hold out. But, if I plan for two weeks and...gasp...lower the denomination of play, then I will not feel the rush to feed the slots every minute, have more time to see some sights, and get more bang for the airfare bucks. So, thanks for that idea!

And your photos are lovely!

I have developed a tad of spine in my old age, so permit me to share this advice: the next time you get such a feckless waiter (we won't dignify him with the preferred "server" title), nicely ask him to send the supervisor (matre'd in a nicer place) to your table. When that person arrives, request another server and say why. I guarantee it will produce results. The difficulty with this is that most of us are forgiving of a certain amount of bad service, hoping for improvement, and we end up tolerating the jerk the whole meal, so it is critical to do it as soon as you get that uncomfortable feeling. It may be that the waiter suddenly becomes attentive and friendly (faking it, probably), or you do get a new server who knows that you complained about the other one and will be certain he makes you happy.

Looking for your next great TR!
Super report, our trips are now longer bacause of airfare increases, so we have reduced our gambling budgets, but we still enjoy our trips.

Thank you all for the comments.

Yes...doing two weeks on a one week budget was something I wasn't sure I could do, but Now I know I can.
Having more time just means more lounging around, more reading, more naps ect.
It is not a bad thing .lol

I would have a hard time asking for a manager In that restaurant situation.
You are trying to have a pleasant meal, not a battle.
Still seems like the night would be ruined.
Oh...and I came home with about thirty dollars in my pocket. Lol
Wow, great report and trip. I am getting close to retirement and have worried about losing my vegas fun, not any more, thanks
Thank you for taking the time to do a report. A lot of us must worry about dwindling trips once retired, I know I do. I really do enjoy lounging in the room, in the morning with coffee and late at night watching all the neon.

No, just the opposite. It is all done quietly. You don't tell the jerk waiter why you are sending for the manager, or maybe "to tell him what we like about this meal." The manager won't raise a stink, just do some re-assigning, or let the waiter know how he is coming across to you. And the jerk waiter may also get a lesson and not treat other diners similarly. Maybe somebody kicked his cat and he doesn't realize how he is coming across. Gives him a chance to redeem himself as well.

Like on an airplane when you have a problem with another passenger, don't argue with the guy, but speak with a flight attendant. The passenger need not know it was you.
I will remember that advice for next time. (Hopefully there won't be one...lol)
