My friend, Joe, and I flew to Vegas from MPLS to celebrate a special birthday of mine!

South Point was not my favorite place to stay and i won't stay there again. We only stayed there because the largest convention of the year was going on that week in Vegas (Technology Convention) and rates were sky high everywhere.

Other highlights were MY BIRTHDAY.

(They had Paul's Revere's Raiders playing in this showroom the weekend before we checked in. Wonder what happened to Paul Revere though?! We heard it was good though from someone who had gone . . . .)

to take to the gambling floor; but gambling there proved to be a mistake. We wandered and wandered in our attempt to find a loose machine, but alas it wasn't to be; and we very quickly donated to the ailing Caesar's empire. Thanks for reading!

Thanks Gail for the report! Happy belated milestone birthday! I hope that yours was a very good one!

And so I guess that you didn't make it over to the Town Square like you previously mentioned that you were going to try to do.

As for Paul Revere, he passed away on October 4, 2014 due to some kind of Cancer.

As for gambling at Rio, that place is not known for necessarily good play and so it doesn't surprise me that you couldn't find a "loose" machine.

RecVPPlayer;

No, we didn't find time for Town Square after all the work you put into the discounts, etc.!

I guess I missed that Paul Revere had passed; thanks for that information!

Ya, it's too bad we couldn't hit anything at the RIO that night. I forgot to mention in my trip report that, besides not having any loose slot machines (that night anyway), I do not like their new carpeting!! It makes it SO DARK in there and not as conducive to the lively atmosphere it once held; especially in the Masquerade Show in the Sky days!

And thanks for the birthday wishes!! Though we've never met; I always enjoy hearing from a veteran LVA'er!

Great report! Happy 60th!
60 yr olds get busy, too. just so you know. kidding aside, a LV birthday with some gambling, shows, no grief, enough space in the room to not bump into each other (which you gotta admit, SP has space!) makes me wish I had spousal accompaniment. Problem being, when we travel together, I seem to be around way too much! Loved your TR. Thanks and Good Luck!
Gail, thanks for the great trip report! Glad you had fun and happy 60th! I am getting caught up in the members only area after rejoining LVA for an anticipated fall Vegas trip.

Good report, happy 60th, we will be in or favorite city May 31- June5. Again thanks for the report.
Happy Birthday Gail!!! I miss the show at the Rio. It was the only reason to visit the place. Machines there are tight, colors are dark, they sucked the fun right out of it.

Hey John! Glad to see you made your way back to the LVA forums and that you will be leaving Mystic Lake and Treasure Island behind for a week in VEGAS this fall! Let the planning begin!
