My Farewell Tour - Chapter 1

Once you climb the mountain it doesn't seem to be as fun to do it again and again. At least for me.

But we often do things out of habit because it becomes difficult to change our routine as we get older. I am truly amazed that you have stuck with it this long!

As others have said, the reports that you so generously share with us all will be terribly missed. I am selfish enough to hope that you change your mind and continue giving us such detailed info concerning the Nevada gambling scene. You should be writing for the local Vegas paper, or, they should take advice from you!

Wish you the best in future endeavors and will continue enjoying your unique style of writing.

Hope you're feeling better. There seems to be a nasty cold going around that involves sinus infections, several people are out from work.
I sometimes watch young couples maybe playing for their first time. They win 100 credits on a penny machine and are so excited to win $1. I haven't enjoyed that excitement playing for a while now. I cut back my trips last year and hope to cut back more this year. Just barely made Diamond at the end of last year, and have to adjust to paying for my rooms or using up the balance of my "Race to Rewards" credits I've been keeping.

Jon, I too will miss those great reports from you. Especially your Rincon trips since Rincon was my casino of choice in 2014(it's a lot closer to Los Angeles than LV).
Thanks for the adventures and good luck to your new journeys in life!

Todd in LV

I am 45 years old and have not been so devastated since I found out Santa was not real.(like 10 years ago . Just really enjoy your adventures and I am disappointed this is your last season.

Ditto all that, raisin. I remember the first time "the man" at Harrah's LV said "we'll take care of your room charges." WOW!!! How could this be? What a thrill! Then the many years of being "appreciated" that followed. Now, like you, I'm a squeaked-in Diamond. Caesars has already been dropped off the list of CET hotels on my offers, even for an event based at Caesars! I try to not feel cheated. I figured this would be the progression as I have dialed back my gambling post-retirement. Before, I could easily work some overtime to make up for a losing gambling trip, but in retirement there is no overtime! I LOVE being retired and I refuse to take another job just to keep up that level of play. This will be the year of withdrawal, but I am steeling myself for it!
Damn! Thank you! Enjoy the next adventure.
in the words of the great Ron Simmons.................................................................................................damn.
