My Stay at the "D"

I thought the rooms were suppossed to be renovated for my one night stay in April...but I guess thats not complete until May. I slept like a log but the room was definitely not refreshed yet: torn wallpaper, ancient bathroom fixtures, and a tube-tv. But the bed was comfy enough.

I'm not sure what to make of the new theme. They are trying hard to make it a hip place with a younger crowd...lots of loud music and table dancing girls...but the clientele was mostly older folks. Its like all those old people were expecting Fitzgeralds and they got MTV instead. Seemed awkward at times.

I'll check it out again in a year and see what its like.

I know what it's like to sleep like a log,
I woke up one time in the Fireplace !
Last trip walked into both the D and Golden Gate. Put money on the table and before they could give me change I was up and out. TOO LOUD!!!!

LOUDER IS NOT BETTER!!!!!

I used to give both of these places pretty good play when I visit. If they continue to blast the music I'll give them a miss. (YEAH! I'm old... BUT.... I have dough to spend!)

LOTS of other downtown places to spend my money!

I sure hope they don't blare the music I agree louder is not always better. GG during the day is fine but at night the music and those dancers YUCK. I guess I am an old fart.
