new trip no notes

flew in from milwaukee 3-26 at 10:00 am. took the bus to my dollar car. a cruze. it was a nice car.
it's 12:00 wisconsin time. 10:00 vegas. went to ellis island for my steak. ordered medium rare. mostly medium. i live at this place.

checked in for three nights at harrahs. room was ready. laid down for two hours. i'm on central/standard time and need a rest. up at 3:00 and tour the linc. i will say harrahs did a really nice job. the street/alley
between IP and flamingo is unrecognizable. there are shops, bars, a bowling alley, the high roller, etc.
spoke to a woman who was working for the high roller. she asked if i would like to be her guest the next
day for employee appreciation day as she didn't family there. i didn't promise anything and told her i like
mother terra firma. gave her my number. she never called.

walked to PH to play vp and then on a slot my bowling mate said to play. it's a penny machine at $1 a spin. tim said it gave out loads of free spins. not. i think he hit it in the first 90 days when they have to pay out
the max.

lost there. went through paris to ballys for my margarita. stayed on the strip over to caesars for vp.
played vp by the sports book at caesars for a bit. lost but had martinis.

walked through the forum shops to the strip. saw pete rose but not at his usual place. still had no
grey in his red hair.

went to casino royale for $3 craps to kill the night. gamboled for an hour even. had their $1 michelobs.

bought two more $1 mics and went to harrrahs check-in to meet fred. met him in the lobby about 10:00. he is using my room the next three nights. he had a connecting flight through denver which was late. gave him his beer and asked if he wanted to tour the area. thankfully he just wanted to sleep. hit the hay at 11:00 vegas time

four nights to go

Sounds good so far but sorry to read about the losing!

I hope that that alley is not part of the Flamingo Wash because if it is, things may not be good when there are heavy rains.

I know that there is video (at least on Youtube) of the Flamingo Wash running through the Parking Lot of the former Imperial Palace (now The Quad).

If you have the American Casino Guide, there is a list in there of certain Slot Machines and what return percentage ranges they offer to casinos, so check that out.

Otherwise, for better returning VP, I'd recommend maybe Palms or Gold Coast or maybe Silver Sevens.

i am trying to remember.

thursday morning fred and I woke up(not together). i took him through the linc on the way to
ellis island for breakfast. i had the 2/1 coupon. craig, another wisconsinite coming in, arrived
and texted us that he will meet us at EI. ate and walked to harrahs.

fred could not check-in yet. i gave him/them my room and went to check-in at monte carlo.
we are here through jean at ameristar through some host whose name i don't remember
through monte. we have six rooms with everyone.

check-in was easy. went to my room.
i have not stayed at monte before. i will say we were all impressed with this place. clean,
well-furnished, assortment of restaurants, plenty of gambling options, staff was personable
and knowledgeable...........i know i sound like a commercial.

I am a harrahs whore and have not stayed at a non-H property in years. WE all agreed that
monte was a big upgrade for our buck. i know we were brought in on their dime, but i would
definitely stay here again.

after checking in i found bruce/joe(they are together because they play bj all day all night together)
i said my hellos and went to explore the south strip. first hit nyny at the beer bar. had two beers and lost
$100 at vp.

walked through excal/luxor to mandalay bay. played here for over an hour. don't remember what i did.

walked back through mandy on the bridge to rira irish place. sat and told the bartender i don't drink
scotch but would like an irish whiskey so what should I have. he poured me a Paddy's. i don't know
whiskey, but i liked it enough to buy a bottle when i got home to wisconsin.

walked back to monte and found the guys. played vp and hit .25 aces with no kicker and four of a kind
3's. my last win.

played bj with bruce/joe for the longest time. joe went up to his room at 2 am. i was still there.
i know i did not play stupid but still lost. i don't know when i went to bed. thursday is over.

i forgot..it happens with no notes...we went to the beer bar tonight. it was very good. watched
basketball, had burger and beers. who could ask for anything more!

i'm trying.

friday am. tossed and turned heard banging on doors with room service. looked at clock.
it's 11:10. i have never been this late in vegas. must have been something...

hit the strip at 11:40. i am quick. sorry dear.

walked to cosmo for the lunch deal. i had the tomato/cuke/pepper/onion salad.
next was the Mediteranean bass(i've tried to spell this and don't care because i am lazy.)
wonderful. asked the waiter what kind of wine should i have. he recommended, i bought. had fresh fruit for dessert.

this is where i get fuzzy. i know i walked through aria to the tram to bellagio. played here for a bit
on vp. lost. went through spring exhibit. very nice.

went back to monte and to the pool for an hour just because i'm not in wisconsin.

still friday. right?

found bruce/joe. playing bj. what a shock.

i don't know the sequence. i went to the burger bar for fish and chips and beer. played more vp
and lost. joe and bruce are up for the night as they leave in the morning.

tonight is an early night. probably 11.

will try to remember saturday.

Thanks for all of this! Sorry to read about your mostly continued losing but good to read of the nice time you guys seemed to be having. It's definitely nice to be in LV with other friends.

Looking forward to reading some more of your continuing adventures!

Great report!
this is something i just thought about that happened on my flight out. not proud.

left mke at 7:30 southwest. grabbed exit seat driver's side window.
settled in. woman sat two next to me. middle seat was empty. i was glad to
have the space. she put down her magazines and i got my video player ready.

right before take off i saw her kiss some dog tags. my dad was retired military. i did not
say anything then.

i had a bloody mary and watched the dark knight rises until we hit hoover dam area on the
almost landing path. she took out the tags a kissed them again. finally when it's not all about me
i asked is her husband in the military. no. her 19 year old son was killed in afganistan.
she was flying to san diego for a moms/family reunion of their sons graduating from base camp.

she was so calm in the way she talked about her son. i asked how he died. she said his death was under
investigation. we talked about how she is probably processing it and still in shock. she is going to
counseling.

his death was about the time politics were in play and a private company came forward and was
willing to pay for the body's flight home and service. something about budget cuts.

she was offered to have him buried at the cemetery..arlington or another.. in washington dc.
she declined and he's in milwaukee at 125th or thereabouts and capital.

he's jeremiah collins
i'll try to finish this.

we're up to saturday. woke up fine. went downstairs. saw bruce playing bj. shock.
i played vp for a bit. sure. from two days ago i'll say i lost at gambling if i don't mention it.

i will.

i am taking bruce, joe and adam to the airport at 10:30. bruce has been up 3,000 but went
home up 550. joe was up and down the whole trip at the $25 bj table. i think this last session
put him in the red. adam doesn't gamble. smart.

got them to mccarron and headed to orleans where i have two nights, $50 food, and a
$25 match play on little play last year or so. i'm one that wants to stay at as many casinos
as i can.

king no smoking 19th floor. it's a dated hotel but fine. went down to gamble on the vp
machines. you know. after about an hour the smoke really got to me. this is the smokiest
casino i can remember.

took the shuttle to ballys. met fred, brent, and craig at flamingo. had a beer. fred was to meet
friends from wisconsin to watch basketball. craig had beegee tix. i don't know what brent was
going to do.

i bade my farewell and headed towards casino royale to maybe play craps. busy. went back
through harrahs and saw people leaving the 1:00 pm mac king show. i'm platinum. i get free
tix to this show for the price of a drink.

got my ticket and tipped $5 to sit close. this is my 3rd time seeing his show. it's a hoot.
there are some new things to this show.

went to ballys to the shuttle to gold coast. played bj and craps here. you know.

shuttled to orleans. went to big al's oyster bar. ordered a pan roast like i did at harrahs a few
days ago. not even close. tons of rice and not much sea food. disappointed.

played. lost.

in bed probably 11:00.

i'll save sunday for later. i can't forget them...it.
Thanks for Saturday's report! It's good that at least Bruce left with $550 more than he arrived with but bad that he took a big dive after being up $3k! And sorry to read about your losing more $!

And as for Adam, I know that it can be hard to play smartly, bet smartly and have discipline.

And as for your mention of Orleans, I was there once briefly to meet up with someone and I just didn't care much for it. I don't know what rubbed me wrong about that place, but I also did notice that it was Very Smokey there (which I can't take much of myself).

Looking forward to reading Sunday's report!

Your TR sounds like mine would! Trying to piece it all back together once you get home is not an easy task! Sounds like a blast though; and I enjoyed the read! PS: The Orleans doesn't do much for me either! Gail from MN
