NYE in Laughlin and a Vegas Quickie

What an adventure, judykq! Was the power on when you arrived?
If you do make it back to Harrahs Laughlin, remember to pass on the house merlot.

Rock'n Rick, thanks for reading.
No, it was flashing on and off. We were going to get gas before going into Harrah's and wondered why the station was closed. I usually get Chardonnay lol!
Lisa!

Thanks for the report. I'm just now getting around to getting caught up on LVA...it's been a while. Super nice time. I'll be in Laughlin and Vegas a few times this year...here's hoping we're there at the same time. It's been forever since we last met.

Jon, nice to see you online and thanks for reading.
Hopefully the stars will align and our schedules coordinate.

What a fun report!

I got miffed at Harrah's Laughlin when my so called host 'guaranteed'...no, offered...me the same wonderful suite like we had on a previous trip. When we got there...oops, no suite. Now, I'm not a person who requires a suite ever, but this room was such a disappointment compared to what was anticipated. She said "we've had so many big players come in this weekend." It was mid August, not NYE! Inexplicably, the experience soured me. Shouldn't have. But, we will go back sometime.

Love the pics! Glad you got to do a lot of free spinnin'!!
Same thing happened to me O2. Beautiful 2 bedroom suite so the next time I go, my wife comes with me and I expect the same kind of room. Nope, standard room "too many big players in that weekend". So, I haven't written Laughlin off completely but its on the back burner. I guess Harrah$$ figured that out because I haven't been there in 18 months and they just sent me $100 free play wanting me back.

Speaking of hosts, mine disappeared and I was never assigned another one. I asked what the "requirement" was and was told 1000-1500 points per day. I have done that but for whatever reason fell off the radar. Probably didn't lose enough.

Thanks, Candy.
I'd be miffed too if someone promised me a suite and I didn't get it. I got the suite upgrade mid week in August when they weren't busy.

A little more about the rooms. I've been told the higher floor rooms are nicer. Whether it's a blue throw on the bed instead of puke orange or the rooms have different furniture, I'm beginning to think it's true.

A year ago Jan, I wasn't sure if I wanted to extend by 1 night or not. At checkout, I found out my play qualified me for a suite if they had them available. Players for a high end golf tournament were arriving that day so no suite for me that night if I decided to stay. An hour later, I checked back in and was given a room on a higher floor, Central Tower. It was nicer than the room I previously had.
