One Day Venture to Rincon

Just a fast, zippy report about my venture over to Harrahs, Rincon in North San Diego. I had planned trips there the past weekend and Laughin the weekend before that but the gaming gods stopped those trips with a good dumping of snow at my place in Pine Valley (interesting only the weekends thus no snow days at school

Finally, this past Saturday I made it arriving at 7:00 AM. It was a multi-point day (the only times I go). I sat down at the one bank of full pay VP machines and my favorite in the corner (two royals to date) and began. About three hours into it, a man sat down next to me and asked if I was "that guy" on the LVA. He was Terry from Chico (?) and flew down on an offer. We chatted for a while and turned out we had some things in common. It was a nice visit--hope he had good luck.

This day saw no royals, and no deuces. However, thanks to three dealt Wild Deuces on the Deuces Wild machine, and a well timed quad Aces and 3s while play BP, I somehow managed to leave +$300 for the trip on a little over 12K play. I would have played longer but I had a book club meeting that night back in Pine Valley.

That's about it except to say the Harrahs has figured out that VP isn't doing them any favors and they have lowered the multiplay days for Diamond players from 7X to 4x on VP only...bummer, but understandable.

I've booked the next two Monday nights there as well (though I'll have to leave at 4AM Tuesday to be at work on time) being that mulitpay days in March are the 14th and the 28th. Hopefully, the winning trips will continue.
Thanks for the report!! I like the non vegas reports too!

Looking forward to your next cross country trip or world gaming trip!!

Nice, Jon! You did a lot better than me. I went on the mystery multiplier day and got killed. Did $20k coin in and lost $2k -- $1 per point cost. I did manage to get a 10x multiplier, but $200 in comps sure doesn't make up for a $2k loss.

Hope you get a royal on each of your upcoming trips!
Hey Jon:

It was a pleasure meeting you and talking gambling, family, jobs and a bunch of other stuff. I, like many others, alway enjoy your trip reports and look forward to hearing about your exploits. And for those of you who have not met Jon, he is as genuine and forthcoming in person as he is in his trip reports.

And, it's his fault that I ended up getting involved with Harrah$$. I really didn't like them at all......and then I read his "primer" that he came out with a few years back. I got my Diamond three years ago playing those nickle 50 play machines in Laughlin and the offers keep coming in, just like he said they would.

This offer was too good to pass up: Three free nights, $100 in free food, $85 in free play (turned out to be $105 when I got there and a $200 travel reimbursement on airfare. I ended up running about $25,000 through over 2 plus days and lost about $200. Not too bad for a Harrah$ property. No Royals or Straight Flushes but enough quads, bonus quads and deuces to keep me going.

So, again Jman, it was a kick to meet and talk with you.

Ted in Chico (Northern California)

Thanks, JMan for the report and I'm happy that this was another winning visit for you! Hopefully they won't get rid of the nicer VP machines for a while!

Thanks for the zippy report! I'm jealous of Ted from Chico. How come I can never run into you One of these days I'll finally see you in LV and tell you what a fan I am of your TR's in personAre you going on a long summer trip? I know I speak for others as well when I say we love your vacation exploitsGive us details pleeze...thanks, Tracy from Utah
Wow, JMan, did you have on the same shirt and tie, same hair style when Ted recognized you? LOL
I often wonder if I would recognize anyone who has their picture on LVA.

I love a short and sweet report, and leaving +$300 is always SWEET!!
Congrats for leaving with a profit. It's hard to do that without hitting a jackpot. Thanks for the update on the machines and taking the time to write. It's definitely worth it to try to get in as many point multiplier days as possible, while there are still decent machines!
O2bnVegas: I always find it amazing that people recognize me. It's happened a few times. Once in Laughlin, and couple noticed me and asked and then said, "Oh you must be Martin!" So I suppose for a while we were known as a team or something.

However the biggest shock was on my last trip when I was at the MGM in Conn and it was early morning as I was going down an escalater and a couple going up the other direction spotted me and came back to introduce themselves.

It's very humbling to recognized and considering there are millions of goeteed, balding men everywhere that someone can pick me out.

Summer plans are still up in the air, but I'm sure I'll be spending most of it in Nevada. I rather liked the idea of exploring EVERY casino in Nevada (there are 190 of them). That has some fascination for me.

Again to all, thank you for the kind words.

Jon
If you do the Nevada trip, I could hook you up w/ a free room in Mesquite and take ya to dinner; it's close to Utah. Just curious, if you went to ALL of the casinos in Nevada, would that include the less than safe casinos (like the Lucky Club,) and other bars w/gambling? Or, would it just be establishments that are casino hotels? Would you place a stop loss limit for each? I could never undertake that alone as I think it could be pretty dangerous for females at some places. Would be an interesting read!
