Our latest "Yippee" trip to Downtown Vegas.(June 16 - 21)

We've been going to Vegas for about 15 years together, 4 of us are in our early to middle 60's. We stay at Main Street Station near Freemont which is Downtown. The girls play Slots and Blackjack, the boys play slots, video poker, craps, Pai Gow and Blackjack. Our rooms are comped at Main Street with no Resort Fees, we get about a $100.00 in food comps(per couple) also for the stay. Our Bankrolls are about 5 grand a couple for the week. We play about 10 hours a day, 1 to 2 dollars a pull. We started a new habit which when we win $200 or more on slots or tables we call it a "Yippee" and then text everyone and brag.We also have 4 LVA coupon books.

We arrived at McCarron on Sunday afternoon(16th) about 4 and tried Uber for the first time. The signs say ride sharing but we figured it out that it was Uber and Lift also. What a madhouse at the garage, We got a small BMW for 4 people, we had 4 luggage,  2 large and 2 medium and we had to carry two mediums on our laps to the Casino. We did however make a small stop at NuWu Cannabis Warehouse about a mile north of Main Street($17 dollars for one joint.) We got settled in our rooms and went down for dinner at the 777 Restaurant, good meal. Everyone split and I played 9/6 JOB at the bar and dropped a $100 and then went over to a old slot machine and won $240.00 and had our first yippee. Everyone else had poor sessions on the slots and just stayed there(Jet Lag). Eventually everyone had a bad day losing their allowance.

2nd day we met for breakfast at the Main Street Buffett. We played at the Casino for awhile. My wife(Leg Problems) rented a scooter at Main Street and it was about $150.00 for the week. We went to  the Plaza, used the matchplays and played craps and slots. One of the ladies had her first "Yip" I'll shorten it. Dan had a good session on the craps (4 points) for the $300.00 (Yip).  We went back to Main Street and took a Taxi to Mandalay Bay, we had tickets for the Michael Jackson Cirque. We ate lunch at the Hussong's Cantina, birthplace of the Marguerita's..Had a pitcher.  The slots suck at Mandalay..The show was great, the boys took a hit off the joint in the garage and the show was awesome. We did have a lady with a huge hair fro in front of us..Took a taxi back to Main Street and another bad day losing(Gave it all back). No dinner, just a hotdog..

3rd Day Tuesday.  Freemont for the Breakfast Buffet and Marvin was making omelets. I had a good session on Blackjack and made $150.00. My Wife had her first Yippee at Four Queens and another at Freemont. We stopped at Golden Gate, I like the accessibility of the new SportsBook, put $50 down on the Yankees. Had a decent session on the craps table with the matchplays. We went back and ate at 777 again for dinner. Went through the bankroll again..

4th day Wednesday, breakfast at the Buffett Main Street and Manny was making Omelets. Dan had a good session on craps 5 points $400.00. Went to the Grand and used coupons, I had a decent hit on slot for $150.00. We went to the D and I hit a 54 to 1 on the Horse racing machine. The music was loud, we ate lunch at the little diner and had leftovers Chicken Fingers, gave them to a homeless pan handler. Checked out the local bands at the stages, it wasn't crowded being the overhead lightshow is on the blink, lots of pot smoking and it smells better than nicotine. Everyone but Dan ended down for the day.

5th day (final day) Freemont Breakfast buffet. (Hit 3 quads on Quarters at Main Street before we left). Played Freemont and I broke even on Pai Gow. Went to Four Queens. Cashed my winner on the Yankees and placed another at Golden Gate. We all went down to El Cortez and used our coupons. I had a $300 session at the single deck BJ tables. We came back and ate at Oscars at the Plaza for dinner, 3 had steaks and I had Salmon. Nice place but expensive  $31.00 for the Salmon and Steaks were about the same for the low end.  Took the extra steak leftover and gave it to a panhandler for his dogs on Freemont.  Watched a few bands and went to Golden Gate to cash Yankees winner. Got in late on a great role 7 points, caught the last three points. Tall guy completely plastered throwing 100's and 25's chip all over the place and making Thousands, crazy. Finished up $200 over daily bankroll.  Went back to Main Street and Wife hit a Yippee for $600.00 total. Good way to end trip., Also we didn't use all the joint we bought so one guy had a sign on freemont saying he wants drugs, so I gave him what was left..Hah..

Last Day had breakfast at the buffet at Main Street and took cab to Airport..Good Trip brought back 1300.00..Had Fun especially on Thursday. Once a year we go. I'm glad the Freemont Street Experience is on the blink. Not as crowded downtown. We had about 6 Yippees total.

Nice TR, Thanks for sharing, we have been back downtown after 10 years on strip, love craps atD & 4Q your yippees really make your TR spicy. Again Thanks.

I had to chuckle at this.....

"everyone had a bad day losing their allowance."

It sounds like we are ten years old but as gamblers we all understand about the daily allowance.

Nice of you to give your leftovers to the homeless.

Enjoyed yor report.

Excellent memory for trip details!  Thanks for a fun and informative TR.  Good idea giving the leftovers to the four-legged panhandlers.  LOL.  Seriously, nice gesture.  Good to come home with some of the bankroll, too.  Glad to hear the MJ Cirque show was good.

Great report.  Enjoyed reading. Sounds like you had a great time!!

$17 for a joint? It must around $20 in California, then. Many strains to choose from, depending on potency!

Sure, lots of pot smells in downtown Fremont and I don't mind.

How were you able to get your wife's scooter to Bandalay Bay? Maybe she didn't go with the boys.

The D's horse racing macine was working? Sigma Derby? The Plaza has the new version, just outside of the "Party Pit".

The boys played craps at the GG and Main Street and actually found the single deck BJ at El Cortez!

It sounds like you all had some fun and I enjoyed reading of your adventures! We all thank you.
