3rd trip of the year-Grandson's 21st in July-Anniversary in Sept-Elaine's birthday 12/16-12/23
Perfectly bad timing for this trip. The rain started before we arrived. Saw the sun for the 1st time while waiting for our return flight a week later.
Good start with Allegiant-got exit row.
Bad start with Hertz-got junk car (see "Transportation")
Good start at South Point-host gave us a very nice "Junior Suite" with a nice fruit basket.
Up and down all evening. Went to bed down $27. This was after Elaine hitting a quarter royal (STP)and 2 nickel royals (same screen on the 50 plays).
12/17 Elaine's birthday
Elaine hit quarter royal on wheel poker and $970 on Kitty Glitter bonus round! Happy Birthday from the cats! To bed up $2207
12/18
Each hit quarter royals. To bed up $29 for the day $2236 trip to date.
12/19
Off to Red Rock
We try to stay on EDST so we were up at 3am. At about 5am I went to the registration desk to see what would be the earliest we could check on our room. They gave us a room right then.
Last trip I made about $5000 in 3 hours play on the 10 coin 25 cent DDB at Boulder Station.
Past performance is no gurantee of future results.
Hit 4 aces w/kicker twice (1 was dealt) yet lost $2720 playing those machines for the day. Ever say to yourself "1 more hundred this thing has to turn around?" To bed with $611. Down $500 for the trip.
12/20
Alliente
Lost $200 waiting for real estate agent to meet us there to look at some retirement homes.
Vegas is weird. Looked at 3 identical homes the most expensive was 50% more than the cheapest!
Decided to use some promos etc.
Eastside Cannery-turned $200 free play into $200 real money at the few $1 full pays. We were at Eastside when they 1st opened and had the best VP in town and a ton of business. Now they might have the worst VP in any locals casino and had no business.
Terribles for the LVA promo. Have not been to Terribles since their 1st year open. Remembered why. Stood in that stinking line (1) to validate the coupon (2) to report $100 loss (3) because the money download would not work (4) because it still would not work and the card locked up. Finally got on a machine that would take the card-the few good VP's would not and cashed out with $80 badly earned dollars-$20 loss. Terribles is welled named if nothing else.
Wynn offered us $400 free play to stay in a suite we did not want. Washed it for $225 real money in the $5 full pays. Even for the day. Down $500 for the trip.
12/21
To Cosmo at 3am. No playable VP. Messed around with I LOVE LUCY for a $55 loss.
To South Point. Lost it all. Did the "walk of shame" to the ATM at 9:03am. Hit quarter royal (3/5plays) at 9:07am. Left SP down $400 trip to date.
Checked into M-lost $500. To bed down $900 trip to date.
Notes do cover details beyond this point. Ended up with small loss for the trip. Did well at South Point but no where else.
I thought it seemed Vegas was pretty busy for this off time of the year. However, when we checked in for our return flight I was amazed to see TSA workers sitting waiting for travelers. No lines!!!
Portion of the airport were closed.
Found a home we love at a price we like. No for the nerve to "do the deal". Lots of personal issues to resolve and a year wait prior to retiring are hard to overcome. All that plus leaving the grandkids!
