AC for Heart Day 2011
Bus was not full and we flew there. Driver going 80 most of the time but he was an excellent driver and I felt safe at all times. Got to Resorts, Bigfus had a upgraded room the night before and I was scheming to take it over. Resorts in notorious for not letting you in the room before 3 or 4.
Sure enough, there was a line for check in and 4 or 5 clerks behind the counters but they weren’t taking anyone til 1PM. Bigfus has tried but her room was “an upgrade” and “those rooms were overbooked”
I call Bullsh*t. On a Sunday in wintertime?..at Resorts? Naw-uh.
It’s 12:35 so I stand in line with the other grumbling schmoes trying to keep my cool but it doesn’t make sense—it’s us vs. them as they stand there 4 feet away not making eye contact.
Bigfus came to see me telling me she needed lucky glitter bad. I had made some special Hello Kitty glitter just for her. She went to get her voice-activated coffee-maker as they opened up the line. I could have her room on the 48th floor IF I was willing to wait til 4pm I argued that was my pals room and dirty was fine by me but it was a no-go. Sigh. I took first available 0n 43/ no smoking. Obviously, my powers of negotiations are useless at Resorts. Bigfus said at least my room was in Rendezvous Tower- which is an upgrade in itself.
Bigfus knocked on my door and I gave her a key. She was leaving the coffeepot here til it was time to go.
I had $26.00 on freeplay from the bus and $10.00 F.P. from Resorts. I lost that and a few hundred as I fought to find purchase somewhere in the casino. We played penny machines, STP, nickels and dollar VP.
I managed a $205.00 TITO but lost another hundred while Bigfus was begging for “some love” from her machine. Resorts has some serious dead zones in their casino where there is no cell service but I got a hold of Stumerrian and walked over the S.B. on the boardwalk. We met up/ did our FP (Lou got $15.00), zipped to Caesars parking- over to Trump Plaza where I lost a $25.00 MP and ran $100.00 through at STP quarters, Lou and I got our Signature Cards w/ free Parking, Chairman passes and a letter stating we get a free upgrade room any day of the week within a month.

Stu & I swiped for 7X RC, got our play on at Bally’s while Lou stayed at W.W.W. Chick and Patty found us and we all agreed to meet at Borgata for dinner in a hour. I won $365.00 on dime Super Bonus hitting 2 sets of Aces for 2,000 and 1,600 dimes. Finally!
Stu drops us at Borgata valet, it’s like a military plan… I get my black card, Lou waits in line at Buffet- Chick & Patty find us w/ no help from me as my cell died texting Bigfus so much on the bus down!
Being Black Label has its advantages- as long as the line was, we were soon seated.
Borgata Buffet is splendid. I had Mai-Mai, tortilla chicken soup, salad, pearl onions, sirloin steak, Escarole and mac & cheese.
Food, good.
They had a special treat for Valentine’s Day and I got everyone to bring me some as I knew T.B. would enjoy these and they traveled well- so into the Ziploc they went. (They’re being mailed as I type this) Enjoy T.B.!
We set a place and time to meet and I looked for a place to smoke and play. Everything’s changed. I grabbed a suit and he agreed they’re smoking signage sucked. Neither “Smoking Allowed” or “Smoking Prohibited “ signed above machines was present but there were no ashtrays where I used to be allowed to smoke so I don’t know anything anymore here. After a fruitless 3/5 minutes I released him as he had other things to do, I’m sure.
Found a 50 Lions and banged out a $90.00 win after 3 bonuses (and 2 cigarettes) Lost it all in a 100 Lions before it was time to meet. Found Stu, but Louie was delayed so I played $40.00 in a dollar Blazing 7’s while waiting- last hit got the $40.00 back (Yay!)
Stu has business at Harrah’s so we drove there once again agreeing to a meet up time and place in 45 minutes—what’s that I see? Quick Quads!! In AC? !?! Hot Damn if I didn’t lose $240.00 playing DIMES in 45 minutes- If I hadn’t got ONE Q.Q. I would’ve thought the face of the machine was wrong. Quick Quads my sweet a$$...
I was first to stand waiting for the guys- dying for a smoke- found a map of smoking areas but I didn’t have Tennis_Bum with me to read the map. Had to hold it upside down and I gleamed a smoking area close but how close I don’t know as I just got dizzy turning the map up and down, back and forth.
Lou had $20.00 food comp so he stood in line to get a sandwich to go and thoughtfully got me a large cup of coffee for the morning as my room at Resorts had no coffeemaker. I did go smoke while waiting for them as I found that area and it had ashtrays- I lost $20.00 on some quarter 5-play w/ stars.
OMG- Wai calls- he’s a co-worker and the guy I give my POV to as he goes to Vegas on the cheap a lot. He’s in town for 2 hours. Poor Stu’s car service—Louie wanted to go back to Borgata cuz he forgot to play his $20.00 FP and I begged him to take me back to Resorts. OMG- It’s 10M and I’m out & about!
Wei had room keys and a Spa set thingy from Silverton for me. He was on a Chinatown bus back to NY in less than an hour and he had FP at Resorts. We met in the lobby decorated for Chinese New Years.. I played a bit more in Resorts and won my money back on some Dragons and Lions pennies bonus- smoking areas have been reduced here too. I’d say it’s only 10% and ONLY in the back behind the Lobby and bus center. They (AC) is playing up the Boardwalk Empire with Art Deco settings/ads.. Prohibition/ Speakeasy Prices in bars and restaurants at set times and I even heard plinky plunky 20’s old fashion piano music in the elevators. Resorts has a $2.99 Steak & Eggs special from 11-7am.
I crash after midnight. Awake just after 5am.
Ugh, why can’t I sleep?!??
Smoked a cig before bed and one in the morning- clean my ashtray/hide it in my luggage and Kleenex-wrap the evidence from the maid. Good God that Louie coffee tasted fine this morning.. as a Receptionist, I drink my coffee cold and my water warm for the last 20 years so it’s fine by me. Thanks Lou!! Muah!

I spoke to a guard telling him Resorts is the only AC casino I know making good changes to the better. He said not in my book, Missy…. He’s got to resign or get laid off—only there less than a year and needs a knee replacement- You don’t get insurance before you work there a year. He was in his mid-60’s and worried about his Family and his income.
I played for about an hour- losing of course, go back upstairs and off on my Boardwalk walk to Bally’s- it’s windy but sunny. I had RC coupons at Bally’s and Caesars- a food coupon at S6X (Country Omelet)
Notice a self-brew, self-serve Starbucks machine in the business center on the 6th floor. Takes Credit cards only. Bet they’ll be in Vegas before long too…
Lost at my dime Super Bonus quads—won some at Caesars but on the second floor where’s there’s no smoking, stopped at Qua Spa for my Dr. Gross Alpha face treatment/ getting 20% off , a $20.00 gift card plus used my RC’s.
Lost more- took a walk of shame to get a marker ($500.00) Lost that in record time….
Decided to get a Boardwalk massage--- heaven. Used the place by old Sands- just me and the girl who climbed on my back and gave me THE best all over massage separating my muscles from the bones..ahhh- I took her up on another 10 minutes (40 total) and she kept working on me long after the timer went off. Her name is Lily. I tipped her $10.00. It’s got to be 60 degrees and not a cloud in the sky—what a treat!
Back to Resorts- upstairs to a clean room/ Organize/pack/re-brush teeth—have 5 hours to kill. I tried dollar VP- (Go large or go home, right?) wrong.
I played 5-play and 10-play nickel STP—hello? Is this thing on?!?!? The line to the slot club is around the back of the casino—they are giving away more voice command coffee-makers and this place is noisy and hopping! The line for check-in is huge so I check out via phone and alert the maid on my floor that she needs to only empty one waste basket and replace soap and a towel.

Stopped back to see Lily, the massage goddess, gave her Lindts chocolates, telling her Happy V.D. day..;

On the other side of him I found 2 Final Offers w/ multi-denoms… I put in 2 twenties, was losing (what’s new..)TITO for $19.00 and slide that TITO into the other one and pressed play Max- and nothing happened. I pushed every button over and over again- panic set in- I turned on all service lights around my area and whipped around the ask the tech what’s going on—I gasped when he figured it out… the machine was set to $10.00 and I didn’t have enough to “play Max” OMG!! How blonde of me… If I want to play I had to put in a more money as one coin doesn’t get you the Final Offer feature. So I slide in another twenty and the button works- the tech watches … I got a cherry for 4 credits! $40.00!! I also broke into a menopausal sweaty hot flash. God help me.. See why I need a watcher?
