Palms Stay for 4 days last week in March

Had a pleasant stay at the Palms recently and below are some pros & cons:

Pros
Great Video Poker
Ivory Tower rooms very nice
friendly staff

Cons
Need more casual dining choices
a bit noisy but it is Las vegas
No points earned on 99% plus machines

Arrived on a Sunday and played Video Poker for a bout 4-6 hours a day. The first time ever I hit two royals in one stay both of these were on 10-6 DDB .50 machines.

Quick question if you are dealt 4 to a royal on Deuces wild and the fifth card is a duece would you ditch it? I did and was told it was a stupid move did end up missing the royal but curious what others would do.

Overall I feel the Palms is a great value with decent rates $59 a day $20 resort fee and great VP. Would reccomend
Thanks for the report.Personally, anytime your dealt 4 to the royal, you have to go for it.
Thanks for the report as well as the info about 99%+ VP machines now earning no points. So this is all of them, including 9/6 Jacks? Or is it the 100% machines only? If it's the 99%+ machines too, then that's a real bummer!

I'm now seeing that at least according to VPFree2.com, it seems that only the 100%+ machines (such as 10/7 Double Bonus and 10/6 Double Double Bonus Poker) earn no points. Also, it appears that some machines don't qualify for promotions either.

And great going on the two Royal Flushes!

The machines near checkin are no points. JOB elsewhere used to get points. Way at the food court end is some 50 play I think gets points. Good luck!

Wow 2 Royals Congrats.
According to Bob Dancer's card you should have held the dirty royal with the duece over the 4 to a royal.

Keeping the dealt wild royal yields an expected value of 125 coins. Going for the natural royal yields an expected value of 95 coins. It is not even close!
