Paris- February 24-28, the suite life part 1

This trip was for our 10th anniversary, we were married at the Little Chapel of the Flowers. 10 years ago we brought 7 friends with us, then had a reception at home a month later. This trip was just the 2 of us. We flew out of AUS at 3:25 and left on time but there must have been serious head wind, it took us over 3 hours to get there. Our host sent a limo to pick us up, so after a short wait for bags, we were off to Paris. We had received a confirmation saying we were in a Calais suite, what a nice treat for our anniversary. We checked in at the diamond checkin where the girl at the counter said happy anniversary and gave us a yummy dessert to take to the room. Our room was 3301P, which ended up being on the top floor with a direct fountain view. We were stunned. The room had been remodeled, at least it didn't look like the dated rooms I'd seen on utube. It was beautiful. We had 2 full baths and a tv at the foot of the bed that raised up when you turned it on (I'm easily entertained).

We quickly unpacked and head to the casino. We normally don't hit the $5 slots at Paris until after midnight, hubby is superstitious and says he never hits a bonus there until after midnight, but we went in and I decided to put $100 in the $5 top dollar. Within a few spins I hit a bonus and won $600. A little odd back story on this, my gambling affinity is genetic, my mother loved her slots (as do both of my sisters). She was put into hospice early January so one of my sisters and I flew to Ohio to be with her for her last days. We lost her on a Sunday night, at 7:11, on the same day that her favorite gambling buddy passed, in the same hospice, on the same floor. How strangely comforting and fitting that she left this world at 7:11 (also, my great nephew was born last year on 7/11). When my sister and I head back to DTW to fly home, we passed the Hollywood Casino in Toledo so I said, "let's stop for an hour, mom would want us to", so we stopped and I hit the high limit room and popped a hundy in a $5 top dollar and immediately hit the bonus for $600. So I felt that $600 win at Paris was my mom's way of saying she was with me.

I ordered an espresso martini in the HL at Paris, they make one of the best! We played a bit at Paris, I won $300 on $20 I put in some penny wheel of fortune thing. Hubby played some dollar slots without any luck. We decided to grab a bite at Le Cafe St. Louis for dinner, they have a huge Caesar salad so we always split it, he got a burger, I got a sandwich. This cafe is consistently good and they have great service. After we ate I needed to run back to the room, I'd bought a little jug of skim milk for my coffee so I needed to put it in the fridge. We get to the room and I open the fridge and noticed there as a large plate in there, I pull it out and it was fruit and cheese. I said our host must have sent it. I went put some $$ in the safe when the hubby said "look". There was a bottle of champagne and 2 glasses on the table and a card from our host saying happy anniversary. How nice! I do love champagne ??.

We went to Ballys to play in the HL area. We saw our favorite pit boss, Andrew, and visited with him for awhile then we hit the slots. You know you're a regular when you see some of the same people in the casino over and over. We met a guy named Rick when we were there in September, then we saw him in December when we went for GGWU at Caesars. We ran into him Friday night and saw a lady from Houston we met last February. Our CW Victoria was on vacation this trip, I heard she was in the Philippines. We piddled around on slots for a few hours. I went to play 3 card poker but none of the tables looked fun so I sat down at let it ride and bought in for $100. An hour or so later I cashed out at $400, so I'd say I had a good first day. I can't remember the last time I won anything at let it ride! We turned in around 1:30. I earned 1000 TCs so I got the 1000 bump, hubby had more play than I did, he got 2500 TCs so he got the 5000 bump. We also earned 2 badges for the Quest for rewards so we earned 500 more TCs that should post at the end of this month.

Saturday morning we decided to try something new. We always like to eat at at least one new place per trip, so this time it was Hash House A Go Go at the Linq. There was a huge line but I went in the door that said diamond and seven star and was told no wait and we were seated in less than 5 minutes. Hubby ordered something that came with biscuits and gravy and I ordered the farm house breakfast, 2 eggs, ham and a pancake. I didn't order their giant one, but the regular one was huge too! It was really good but way way too much food. We went to the casino after that to earn our badge for the Linq, then went to Flamingo and Cromwell to earn those badges. We stopped at Ballys to play for awhile then ran up to the room for a few minutes, watched a fountain show then went to PHo. We played high card flush for awhile, I think I tripled my buy in, hubby cashed out at what he bought in for. He hit the HL slots for a minute, then I went to the $1 4x wild cherry machine while hubby wandered around. We stopped in at the diamond lounge and had them call our host to see if she was available. We ordered drinks and she got there soon after. We really aren't high rollers or anything but she always takes the time to see us when we are at PHo, whether it's in the diamond lounge or she comes to find us in the casino floor. We visited for about a half hour, thanking her profusely for the great suite and the goodies.

After PHo we played at Paris and Ballys for awhile. Hubby was playing the $5 top dollar at Ballys and hit a bonus and got a hand pay of $1,800. I had been playing let it ride at that time and stopped at the $1 king cash machine when I glanced back at the $5 machine and he pointed at the light blinking on top of the machine, nice hit for him! We went back to the room to rest a bit after that and munched on the fruit and cheese plate. We had to head to Monte Carlo at 7, I had a ticket to Cher. We left about 6:30 and took a cab to Aria. I went to the players club to load a Myvegas reward for a 2 4 1 buffet on Monday. Hubby played $5 top dollar, I found a $1 4x wild cherry, neither of us did well. We walked to Monte Carlo to find a slot for him to play while I'm at my show. We find a 7's and stars machine that you could play quarters or dollars so he said he'd be there, come find him aft the show ...hopefully he'd still be at the machine. The show started at 8 so I left him at 7:45. My seat was in section 2 row D seat 5. It was a great seat. The show didn't start until 8:15, it was great! Cher looks great and still has a wonderful voice. She was very funny. It was so worth it. Months ago I was trying to decide between BonJovi @ TMobile or Cher, the BonJovi seat I wanted was over $400, Cher $200....I've seen BonJovi twice so Cher it is. Well worth it. She looked incredible for 70! After the show I went to look for the hubby, and yes, he was at the same machine and had been there the whole time, playing on his original hundred. Ballys used to have this machine in their HL but took it out a few years ago and we haven't seen it anywhere else. It used to be my hubby's favorite machine so we were glad to find it. We took the monorail to Bellagio wandered through the conservatory then went to find the top dollar machines by the buffet. A man had just hit the $5 top dollar progressive and was waiting for his $71,000 check! Awesome! Hubby and I played the $1 machines, I hit a couple of bonuses and cashed out at $1,000. I went to the cash machine and there were 2 couples by it taking pictures of one couple and their cash out tickets. I said "wait. I have one too, let me in the picture", so they did. The girls ticket was $40, she looked at mine and said "oh my gosh, I really want to take a picture with you, I'll hold up my ticket and frown, you hold yours up and smile". The they we're very excited for me. I cashed my ticket and we went back to Ballys and Paris and played awhile, then turned in around 1:30. We both earned 4 more badges and each earned 1000 TCs so we both got the 1000 TC bump.

Last 2 days to follow.
Super Report, you & hubby had good luck the first 2 days, we were married at The Little Chapel at The Court House Sept 29. 2001, it is no longer in business. Keep on winning.
Congratulations on ten years! That room at Paris sounds incredible! You guys have such good luck at the $1 and $5 slots; especially the $1800 hit at Bally's! I may have been there the same time as you - I was in Vegas Feb. 26 - March 3. Never made it to Paris this trip; but was at Bally's. I have seen Cher in concert, also; in St. Paul approximately ten years ago; i thought she was phenomenal! Her outfits are something else; and i have always loved her unique voice. She can really belt them out!

Thanks for the TR - enjoyed the read!
Gailtherese we probably passed each other at Ballys! If you're ever in the high limit slots and you see a man playing $1 or $5 top dollar up there and he looks a little like Harrison Ford, that's my hubby, I won't be far from him!
More to come...
Tracy

Harrison Ford? You lucky stiff!
??I tease him that he looks like Harrison Ford but acts like Indiana Jones. We were in a restaurant on the riverwalk in San Antonio once ant the waiter said to me when hubby went to the bathroom "wow, he looks like Harrison Ford", I said yep, he even has a small scar on his chin.
Very nice! Thanks for Part 1 of your report and very nice going on the wins so far and congratulations on your nice anniversary!

Looking forward to reading the continuation of your trip!
I'll try to get it done this weekend!
