October Trip
Before you start we don’t go to shows, fancy restaurants, scenic trips, we come to gamble and go bounce around and lately there is less bounce.
Oct. 12th.
As usual had trouble sleeping the night before the trip. We have been going to Vegas since 1974 you would think that we would be pros at this.
This is our first flight on Southwest because of a offer of two free round trips if you took their credit card and use it at least one time. Both Pat and I took them upon this offer, so our March trip is also free. Well not free as they charge $25 for the card and $5 for each ticket. Not to bad!!
The flight was fine we had boarding passes B1 & B2 but because of me being in a wheelchair we pre boarded.
Picked up car a van at Alamo cost of $149 got van as a free upgrade just by asking and running into a Alamo boss that took care of us. Check-in went fine and the scooter I ordered was there.
Ballys now rents scooters for $129 a week and I think next time I will use them because you can pay with comp dollars.
I placed a bet on the Brewers and they lost damn! Both Pat and I lost today Damn.
We went to the Mexican joint and when we were being seated I asked for a romantic table with valet parking, I have done this many times before and got a few laughs. This time the gal went with it and seated us in a cosey corner table ,and put the menu up as a screen. Pat and I got a kick out of this, but the topper was she brought us ( Pat) a beautiful red and white rose. The bill was about $28 I left a $11 tip.
That’s it for today.
Thur. Oct. 13
Today we went to downtown the only places we went was MSS & The Plaza. The reason for this is I did not charge up the scooter because I thought that it hat a good charge. (Dumb move)
When we were in The Plaza I noticed that it was low so we went back to MSS. The Plaza looks nice & clean but they don’t have room tours. We ate at the 777 Brew Pub we had the prime rib and it was good. We hung around for the meet at 6pm.
There was 7 of us Pat and I, Bob from MA. & his girlfriend, Pat, Judy &Ed formerly of Milwaukee and now in Vegas. We looked and looked for a Chicago Bear hat and could not find one lol. We meet just outside of the 777 Brew Pub talked for about 45 minuets. Still no Bears cap so we broke up.
Today Pat lost a very little and I held up my end by getting killed.
Nothing new so that’s it for today.
Friday Oct. 14
Today we just stayed at Bally’s. We finely used a coupon from the POV it was for the La Brazier (sp) the hamburger joint in Paris thanks Judy. But if one of our teams is playing I won’t go near the joint. The last time we ate there the Badgers lost to Ohio State this time the Brewers lost.
We finely had some good play but still lost a little, witch is much better. Also today we made diamond on my card. Now we have to get Pat off of gold by the end of the year.
I am writing this on Sunday morning so I hope that I don’t forget anything. Ok I keep saying that we are losing most of that is on VP. We are holding up sort of on the penney machines.
That’s it for Friday.
Saturday Oct. 16
Today we checked in to The Orleans, the room is fine it’s one we had before #777.Again we lost BUT not as bad as the last three days.
We did something new for the first time ever we ordered room service in Vegas! We did order room service on our trip to St. Lucia that we won on Regis & Kelly, that trip was all inclusive .I made a bet on The Packers but was to late for The Badgers.
Nothing else going on as we stayed at The Orleans all day.
Sunday Oct. 17 to Tuesday Oct. 18
Well I stopped posting everyday so the rest will be from my memory for what it is worth.
On Sunday I applied for a line of credit at the Orleans. I figure why go to the bank to get more money when we can get it at the casino. I did apply for check cashing at Caesars ( Harrah’s in Joliet), but I went to cash a check in Indiana and they had a $200 limit every 24 hrs. so the next time I go to Joliet I will apply for a line of credit there.
We used two MRB coupons at the Orleans one for the buffet and $10 slot play (thanks again Carol and GOOD LUCK IN DECEMBER).
We had another great meal at The Prime Rib Loft. We charged everything to our room all meals, gift shop, food court, etc. I talked to our host the day before we were to leave and she said just leave she would check us out.
That worked out well because all we had on our bill were tips.
I again have to thank the guy/gal that poster about dropping the bags off before taking the car back. This would have worked fine except my leg was so bad that I needed a wheelchair That took a half hour to get at the bus drop off. It is a good thing that the gal that came was very fast or we would have missed the plane. I tipped her $10 for her great service. We were the last ones on the plane and I asked if anyone would please give me a aisle seat. One GREAT GUY did and would not take anything for it.
Good Luck Always,
Dick From Milwaukee
