There was a nice play and earn at 4Q/Bin in July and Aug. And there's a more limited one for Nov and Dec. I don't know of anyone who recd play/earn on their Sept/Oct mailer.
KL, you must be one of the few who have an offer with play and earn at 4Q/Bin for Sept/Oct.
And 4Q/Bin mailers have changed. They used to base them on daily average and are now based on a monthly average.

It's for Nov/Dec actually, now that I look at it. I had a separate, much crappier, Sept/Oct-only offer, 2 for 1 room night (ONE). No free play
The play and earn is going to be, according to the mailer, for earn 500 points, get $30 free play and $30 comps. That would be a straightforward 1.5% spiff, $60 on $4000 coin-in. It's unclear how many times you can do it. My offer also comes with 2 free nights, up to 7 more at 30% off, and $40 free play. Just like before.
So the Sept/Oct downgrade may have been some kind of hiccup, or a widespread decision from the marketing powers that be that people were going to come flooding into Vegas with the start of football season and comps are unnecessary.
Full disclosure: my entire play this summer consisted of roaring through town on my way to Yellowstone and over two nights, plowing through the $16,000 coin-in needed to fully exploit their play-and-get offer. Lost just about equal to the free play/cash back, down about $50 when the dust settled, but several meals and my room free. Not bad for a royal-free mini-trip.
But Kevin doesn't go to Las Vegas...............sigh

I never said that I don't go to Vegas. I rarely make trips there any more. But I would have been silly to be driving on a 1000+-mile trip through Vegas and have a free room and free food, and not stop. It was only at that point when I learned about that great promo at 4Q, which induced me to stay another day.
You see, Jerry, there are still a few worthwhile opportunities out there. I wouldn't have made a special trip just for that promotion. But being there anyway? Sure! Interstate 15 passes straight through Vegas. And then I enjoyed a week camping in Yellowstone. You should try it.
