I do not doubt there are QQ devotees willing to respond. In my defense I spent more time studying strategy (shacklefords and dancers) than I thought I'd need as the tutorial from dancer illustrates most of the 'challenge' hands. So I left for the coast 4 nights ago. Overnighted in Alabama and arrived noonish at Biloxi, home of full pay 25c JOB QQ. Let's be specific, I lost. I have in my phone pictures from 3+ years of royals, all 'cause I stick to what I know, quarter full pay. And I don't play multi hand games, as a rule. But 3 play was what they had. Even though I don't like losing, I got the 5000 coin in for the end of diamond renewing. I'll be in Vegas in 4 weeks for our anniversary and enjoying the hundy comp at flays or mon ami (where I hope a hundy feeds us since we don't imbibe). But for this elder canine, you may keep the QQ away from me.
But NOLA was fun as usual. It has been a couple years since the 50c JOB progressive there fell on me; That's one of only two really good days I've had there in a decade plus of visiting. I was a really early re-visit-er after Katrina. I don't think I missed any professional meetings held there, since. So, I'm used to the good and bad. But I was not prepared to learn Crazy Johnnie's is closed. To most, it's just another locals joint. To the Radford's, a great reasonable steak place that never disappointed. So, for the trip, I ran in several thousand, and hope I continue to get offers. I'll add one not-so-comforting thought: The area near the quarter, where I stayed, is still dangerous. I have a news feed from the Times-pic; if I counted right, three young people were shot ON CANAL street in the three weeks before this. The message: be very careful, more so at night, and more so if you're alone. Walking around loaded is a dreadful mistake. Good luck!
(I call the drive my favorite part of most travel in SE. But Birmingham; what the hell? Anyone know what happened there today?-6.28)
