Quick LV Trip, Nov. 24-26

Saturday, October 26- After hitting the gym for a workout the wife and I went to Tuscany to pick up her freeplay.   She won a couple hundred dollars and I ended up even playing the Cleopatra Wild Tiles game.  We both picked up a couple of cannister sets for their gift day.

Headed to Olive Garden on Flamingo for lunch.  Great food and service as always.

Back to the Westgate for the second round of the tournament.  Was 5th in the round, wife did better than yesterday,  but still in the low 80s. Went to the room to rest and came down and played JOB VP at the International Bar while we waited for the final round of the tournament to start.  Disappointing final round for me, 146th, but wife improved to 46th for the round.

We went to the room to get ready for the tournament dinner,  which was interesting.   It was buffet style with food from thee of the Westgate restaurants, Edge Steakhouse,  Silk Road Asian Bistro and Frescos Italian restaurant.   Open bar and a big dessert bar was also available.  Had a good time.

Sounds like you had a good time.  We had an offer to play in that tournament but not for free.  Looked like they paid out top one hundred.  Sometimes you just need an excuse to go have some fun.

Was going to save this for a post script but I did get 3rd overall in the tournament, so took the 7K freeplay and made a decent profit playing high limit slots and took Kevin's advice and played JOB VP as well.

Went to breakfast at Tuscany this morning (Sunday), using comps and then back to the Westgate to check out.  Wife and I made a nice payout on Megabucks.

Heading back now.   Hopefully traffic isn't very bad going home.

We spoke with my wife's host before leaving and he said he was frustrated with the paid parking at Westgate.   Said he had a number of his players call to tell him they weren't coming to play because of having to prepay for parking.  He admitted to the gouge going on and that the Westgate has been laying off people this month, as well.

With price of parking.I think I will alternate monorail or taxi with driving.Cooler weather walk.

Nice hits, Edso!    I havent been at Westgate in awhile.    Might be worth the visit next time....I wonder if you can park at Sahara and walk there?  How far/practical is that?

You can definitely walk it.  10 minutes.....depending on how fast you walk.  Just need to cross Paradise at Karen, and then follow the upper path around the empty parking lot, although it was filled with trucks and trailers from the car show, where people were paying $50 a day to park.

Now, the parking fee may only apply to big time events like the car show convention and another big gaming convention, that made parking a necessity for most of the attendees. When we came in August for Labor Day the parking fee was not being enforced with sentries at the various gates.  Then it was like they had at the OYO, where you go in and park and then pay......if you want after using the QR code.  My wife and I used valet...since it's free for Diamond members, but our son parked in the garage every day and had no issues....and was never charged or even approached about it.
