Hubby and I were just in our happy place mid September. Long story short, boss and wife going first weekend of November for a wedding, Vegas virgins, my hubby sees the email from CET about earning TC's for 2016 from October through the end of the year, he says go solo. Boss says first weekend of November, I book my trip, Friday-Sunday using SWA miles. Didn't really have plans with them just wanted to be available if they needed anything. Suggested their first trip be at bellagio, premier lake view suite, his wife booked it. I had comp at Ballys, $100 free play, $50 F&B plus great gift wrap weekend, which I've never been to. Wednesday the 4th we're in the office and I mention something about the rain forecast for the 6th hoping we didn't have problems getting out. The previous Friday the airport had 6" of rain, flooded the control tower and only one runway available since then. Boss says "Friday?" I say "Friday." He says not this Friday and calls his wife, nope, not this Friday. Dork, I say, I'm going anyway! Not my first solo trip!
Rainy morning but the clouds parted and it was clear sailing for my 2:45 p.m. flight. Left work at 1 and was parked at fast park and through security by 1:45. TSA pre is the best $85 I've ever spent, although the regular line in Austin was non existent. Flight left about 10 minutes late but we arrived on time. I had my lucky Bloody Mary in flight, watched free dish tv, slept 15 minutes, then talked to the 2 guys sitting next to me, one had family about 30 minutes from my mom in Ohio. I carried on since it was a short trip so I was off the plane quickly. I had booked a limo through CET since my friend Sean quit Presidential. I had a really nice driver, she'd been driving at various CET properties since the Aladdin. Diamond check in had a few people in front of me but they were serving champagne and beer and cookies so I had a glass of cheap champagne. I was given a nice king room in the jubilee tower, room 7021. I quickly unpacked, called the hub to tell him I was there and found out what games he wanted me to bet on for Friday night games. Got to the sports book with 5 minutes to spare....sadly he lost that bet.
Our host had told us that on Friday the Paris and PHo diamond lounges had carving stations so I went to PHo. No carving station but the hot food was from Martoranos. I found a seat in the back and ordered an espresso
Martini. I'm fairly sure it was just espresso with vodka in a martini glass. Not tasty. The food, however, was really good. Meatballs and some sort of chicken breast, salad. (With WAY too many purple onions in it) veggie sticks, chips, dip and chicken wings, and dessert. I was hoping that little nosh would make me happy til morning. Next stop, the 4x cherry machine close to the high limit room. My favorite machine at PHo, it was kind in September and I was hoping to get my 50 TC's to earn my free buffet. I played on $100 for quite awhile and easily earned my TC's. Tip, wait about 15 minutes after you earn your TC's to hit the players club for your voucher, there's a slight lag time. I soon was on my way back to Ballys, voucher for breakfast in my purse. Went to the players club to get my free play. I ran over to Paris to see how many giftwrap points I had, 38000, enough for a cute red Dooney purse....but, I had more gambling to do so I thought I'd wait and see what happened in th next 24 hours and get my gift before they close Saturday night. I went back to Ballys and I ran my free play and a couple of $100 of my own through some of the $1 and $5 slots, not real winning a lot but getting a lot of play. I decided to go play roulette so I bought in for $100 and gave the girl my players card. The pit boss, Scott, had my card in his hand and said, "I know this name" and came over and gave me a big hug. He said "back so soon?", I said "funny story" and told him about the boss. He asked about the hub, I said he stayed home. I was hitting a little here and there, every time I'd hit a number I'd have her give me a green chip and then the rest in $1 chips, I soon had my buy in back. I normally play $3 on 20, then $1 on all 4 numbers that touch it, then split zero/double zero and some other misc numbers. Scott was standing next to me when I had the last of my $1 chips on the table but still had my buy in in green chips and just as the ball dropped he put his hand over my eyes. Finally the 20 hits, thank you!! I tell her I want a black chip and some greens, $173 I think. I decided not to tempt fate and cashed out. That helped ease the sting of the slot losses. I walk back over to Paris to get more parlay cards so I could take a pic of the card so hubby could tell me what to bet for him. I make his bets and run back to my room to put the parlay cards in the safe. I go back down to play slots, by then my pit boss friend Andrew was working so I talked to him for awhile. He said "I thought you said you'll be back in February ", funny story I said. I lost some more at slots and decided to hit up 3 card so I bought in for $100. The dealer asked me if it was my birthday, I said no. Both the guy at first base and the girl at 6th were having birthdays that day. I get a few decent hands and a waitress comes up and asks me what I'd like, espresso martini please. She said she'd never heard of one but wrote it down. Whe comes back with one in a short glass.....and it was warm....and it was awful! Oh well. I ended up doubling my buy in so I head back to slots. I end the night with 1000 tcs so I got the 1000 tc bump. Off to bed about 1:30 a.m.
Saturday morning I get a text at 7:00, my other boss says "put that beer down, it's too early." I said yes, it's 7:00 here, he said oops and said it was raining at home. I said it was 48 and beautiful. I was awake so I decided to lounge around for awhile, then I had to get ready, I had games on my parlay that started at 9:00. I get down to Paris sports book with about 15 minutes to spare. I make my bets, which the only game I won was the over on the OU/Iowa state game. Hubby didn't win any of his parlays either. I head over to PHo to the buffet. Always good. My host sent me a note that she'd be around that afternoon so I told her I'd meet her in the diamond lounge around 3. I went back to my 4x cherry machine, ordered a Bloody Mary and proceeded to lose my $100.
Dang it, my iPad is dangerously low on juice. I'm going to have to charge it and start another thread. Shoot, I was hoping to put it all in one report. Oh well, til tomorrow.
