Red Rock Happy Hour -- Outstanding

You need a rental car, but if you have one, you shouldn't miss this. RR is beautiful, and they stuff the T Bones steakhouse with (huge) $5 cocktails and great appetizers/small plates.

It's 5-7 p.m., everyday, I'm pretty sure. It's packed, and the crowd is lively. You can keep to yourself or strike up a convo, and both go down fine. Get there on time. You can have a fancy -- if not huge -- dinner for $15, and, say, two cocktails, and you leave a nice tip, and you're still out for $30. If you play a lot at the downscale (though Palace Station is a favorite) Stations, you probably have way enough slot points to pay for the whole thing.

Then drive north on 515 to Summerlin Pkwy. Pay real close attention after those drinks, because the view will blow your mind. Sum Pkwy hooks into Route 95, and you can get anywhere from there.

(Reported directly from MSS vaunted WiFi area before I go and blow their VP apart.)
Do you always advocate drinking and driving?

BTW, it's the 215, not 515.
Personally, I prefer getting hammered in Mesquite and driving back to Vegas, LOL.

Sue, I think at some point the Beltway is numbered as the 515. I think I've seen it down by the Fiesta Henderson. Highway numbers are goofy depending on whether it's considered county, state or federal at a given point. Please don't ask me to explain why 'cause I don't know. I just know it doesn't make sense to me. It probably has something to do with not using existing highway numbers when a new stretch is built. Just a guess.

I guess it's kind of like why the world is round or why Harrah$ has lousy VP. Mysteries that haunt mankind.

Good Luck!

I've only seen it called 215 by Summerlin Pkwy.

In any case, this would be a better thread in Restaurants, than Trip Reports.

Sue may be on to something.

The 515 is combined with 93 and 95 going south through Henderson. The beltway is always 215 and has nothing to do with the 515.

Sorry, but with all the drunk driving accidents in Vegas, I just don't find it something to joke about. But that's just me ...
So you actually need to add a designated driver to the rental car.
The signs were weird and small and said "515." They were not Interstate-style signs. They were signs designating the beltway that runs past the Red Rock. I had two martinis in three hours, which I would not characterize as "drunk driving," but I'm sorry if I offended you.
