Rincon 7/20-21 construction/pool/restaurants/gambling

The new tower construction is moving along. The crane is still up, but they've added windows to floors 3-5. We did hear some construction noise in our room on Saturday morning while we were unpacking but nothing when we returned to the room about 5pm after being in the casino all day. No construction noise this morning either.

For lunch we tried the new restaurant 'Ritas Cantina former home to Cabana Cove(CC) and the BBQ place(wasn't very good and didn't last long). Anyone know if the CC surfboards got a good home they were awesome dude.
We ate in the restaurant. They have some specialty margaritas on the menu(sorry didn't try these) and the house margarita is a cadillac margarita ($8.95). You are given tortilla chips and 4 different salsas ranging from a mild pico de gallo to a spicy green salsa to increasing heat red salsas. Hubby ordered the carnitas burrito(comes with the rice & beans inside) it is large. Hubby liked the flavor and it had plenty of meat($10.95). I had the $7.95 carne asada taco plate [2 tacos on super size corn tortillas (same size as the Mission tortilla super size)]. For beans you get the choice of black beans, refried beans, or "ranchero beans"-had bacon bits supposedly. My tacos had lots of small cubed cut carne asada meat-pretty tasty with the spicey salsa added. My hubby and I could have easily split either meal and been very full. We both needed a box to take back to the room. You true Mexican and Texmex foodies probably won't like this, it's Acapulco/El Torito level. It works for me.

We were in the restaurant a little after 11am and that's when the DJs start at the pool. It's pretty loud in the restaurant. They keep a security person outside the door from the restaurant to the pool area as you need to either have gotten a pool pass if staying in the hotel or paid to enter the pool area. Not sure if they are using wristbands so you can leave pool area and return. They had 2 or 3 security people staged between the spa tower elevators to the pool area most of the day. It was so busy and loud outside, I didn't venture out to see what it now looks like outside. Come to think of it, we weren't asked or given passes to the pool although we were staying in the hotel(I'll have to ask next month when we return to Rincon during the week).
Pool Note: From the comments on Rincon facebook page Saturday is only for those 21 and older. The rest of the week children are not allowed in the pools, only in the Lazy River area. Hotel room gets you 2 passes only, if there are more of you it will cost each addl adult or child $10 M-F $20 Sat & Sun. There are quite a few parents who used to bring their children with them to use the pool who are now very unhappy with these new policies.

Since my hubby earned Diamond last year, he had the $100 Diamond dining credit available so we ate at Fiore Saturday night. It was wonderful. Our favorite server Catherine wasn't working so we met Roman a very wonderful server. He was very good about checking to see how we liked our meal, if we wanted or needed anything. I think if I had asked if he could send someone over to the buffet to get me some chocolate covered strawberries he would have accomplished that for me. We had requested our dessert "chocolate decadence cake" to go but it was taking a while so Roman kept dropping off these wonderful dark chocolate covered caramel candies while we waited, they were very good. When he had our desserts he asked if I wanted more of the chocolates, after 5 of them I was on sugar overload so I turned them down.

Gambling slot & VP
While searching for my fav VP machine I stopped and played the Double Super Times VP and for the first time ever I got a 10 times multiplier with a good pay (125 at 10 X for 1250 payout wish I could tell you it was dollars, it was nickels). I usually play this machine for a while and eventually let it take the amount I invested.
Once I located my fav single line VP playing DW quarters it gave up 4 deuces, on BP 3 or 4 sets of 4oak. So I was up about $400 when I left.

My only good score on slots was "Jungle Wild" it is made by the same company the makes "3 Kings." I triggered the lower number of free spins(21 spins) and while in those free spins triggered the medium number of free spins(25 since it triggered while in a free spin otherwise it would have been 49). It payed $170 by the time all those spins were finished. Very nice.

Hubby likes to put in a dollar or maybe five dollars and play slots. He usually gets some $20, $30 and sometime $40 payouts off his large investments. When he plays VP he plays 1 or 2 quarters, not max so his loss is never much, but he is so happy when he gets an 80 or 125 quarter payout on his 25cent investment. So that's about what happened this weekend for him. Guess who came home with more than they took with them . Him.

Sorry for being so lengthy, but there were so many new things that happened at Rincon.
Thank you for very informative report. We used to go to Rincon all the time, but stopped about 4 years ago for various reasons.. I was thinking about going last weekend, but got distructed... Reading your report made me feel like I was there. Thanks again.
Thanks for the updates. Although I haven't visited Harrahs Rincon in nearly 4 years, I've always enjoyed the property and look forward to when I can go back.

Very nice! Thanks for posting the report and good going on your nice hits!

I know that it all depends on what game you're playing, what it's return and volatility rate is as well as how many coins you are playing when it can make a difference with the top pay versus lower coins but it's good that it sounds like you both didn't do that badly.
