We are driving from Riverside in So. Cal, to Skaitook, OK, and back from December 20th-30th. Going to spend Christmas with my mother-in-law. As we drive we will be visiting different casinos along the way. We will play $100 each at every casino we stop at. I will also provide info on gas prices and where we eat most meals.
Dec. 20- Riverside to Flagstaff, AZ
Stopped to fill up gas at Barstow. Paid $3.95 per gallon, $55 total. Took the 15 to the 40.
Stopped at Spirit Mountain Casino in Fort Mojave. Casino was small Indian Casino.Very smoky. Wife lost $100 playing Prosperty Link. I won $80 playing the Mystery of the Lamp game. Son won $50 playing Crazy Rich Asians slot game. Up $30 for the day.
Stopped at the Great Dragon Chinese restaurant in Fort Mojave. I had the cashew chicken, wife got orange chicken, and son got the crispy chicken. Came with steamed or egg fried rice. Everything was really good.
Fort Mojave to Flagstaff. Took the 95 to the 68. Then headed south on the 93 to the 40. Filled up at Speedway. $3.19 per gallon. Just over $50 to fill up. Stayed at Hampton Inn in East Flagstaff using Hilton Honors points. Easy check in and being gold members we get free drinks and snacks
Ate dinner at Oreganos Pizza Bistro, right across the parking lot from the hotel. Had the garlic cheese bread with marinara. It was better than the Chicago style pizza we had. A couple of beers for my wife and I, plus a Moscow mule for our son, along with the large pizza and cheese bread set us back, about 60 bucks with tip.
Took advantage of the fitness center for a half hour workout, and then headed to bed.
Dec. 21- Flagstaff to Albuquerque
After eating the complimemtary breakfast we left Flagstaff and drove to Twin Arrows Casino, 20 minutes away.
This place reminds me of Soboba Casino in So. Cal. Lots of the same games. Played the the crazy chicken game, firecracker game and the new Wolf run game, netting a $400 profit. Son played his $100 through a Mo Mummy game and was busted in 15 minutes. Wife played Mo Mummy and Bank Busters and was up $50.
Went from Twin Arrows to Fire Rock Casino, outside of Gallup. About a 2 and a half hour drive. Interesting set up. You have to go by the gift shop and Chei`s Restaurant before you walk into the actual casino. Chei`s had their breakfast buffet until 2pm, and we made the decision to eat before playing. $14.99, and was a limited buffet. Eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, waffles, fruit, and omelette stations. They also had tamales, but didn't try it. I had a ham and cheese omelette, along with eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and biscuits and gravy. Wife and son had the regular breakfast items and split a waffle.
We each played $100. I played Mystery of the Lamp and the firecracker game and lost $39. Wife played Mo Mummy and Prosperity Link and lost her $100. Son played the new Whitney Houston game and broke even.
Went from Fire Rock to Dancing Eagle Casino, an hour east of Albuquerque. It took a little over an hour to get there. Much like Fire Rock. Pretty small. I lost $80 playing the fire cracker and flaming pots games. Son was up $25 playing Monopoly Express, and wife was big winner, hitting a nice bonus win on the firecracker game and left with a $175 profit.
Drove an hour from Dancing Eagle to the Hampton Inn in West Albuquerque. Using Hilton Honors points for the stay. Dinner was at Olive Garden. Sat at the bar and had a great bartender. Answered all off my son's about the whiskeys they had. I had the fettuccini Alfredo and wife and son had the chicken parm. Wife and I had a couple of beers. Bill was $130, including a nice tip. Wife and I are George's when we are on vacation. Headed back to the room and called it a night.
Tomorrow we go from Albuquerque to just outside of Oklahoma City.
