Dec. 22- Albuquerque to OKC
Went to workout, but both the treadmill and elliptical were not in service. The treadmill made a hideous squealing when it was running, which was very annoying. Just ended up walking around the hotel for 20 minutes.
Ate the comp breakfast before heading to the Sandia Casino in North Albuquerque. Really nice and big with slots and table games. First casino on our trip where the tables were open. Son played BJ, table minimum was $10. Lost his $100. Wife lost playing Mo Mo Mo Mummy. I ended up losing $40 playing the firecracker game and crazy chickens.
Next stop was the Lucky Star Casino outside of Clinton, OK, 6 hours from Albuquerque, but stopped for gas at Loves in Santa Rosa, NM and lunch at Braums in Amarillo first. Gas was $2.42 a gallon, so filled up for $50. Wife loves Braums ice cream, and it was lunchtime when we got to Amarillo. She had the chicken strips dinner and peppermint shake. Son and I both had the crispy chicken sandwich and fries. He had the peppermint shake, while I had strawberry. Didn't disappoint. $33 was the total. Easily over $50 at Sonic or Chick Fil-A in California.
About two hour drive from Amarillo to Lucky Star Casino. There are actually 3 Lucky Stars in the area, but this was the closest to the 40. Looks can be deceiving. Looked like one small building, but was 4 sections that fanned out to the back and left. Lots of older and newer games. I dropped my $100 on the Mystery of the Lamp and the the goldfish game. Son and wife played various bingo style games here in Oklahoma called red screens, because sometimes on a winning spin the screen turns red and respins a number of times. Wife won $230, and son left the casino up $130.
Half hour drive from Lucky Star to the Sugar Creek Casino outside of Hinton, OK. This casino was pretty nice. I lost playing Crazy chickens, and son lost playing a couple red screen games. Wife won $130 playing the firecracker game. Highlight for son and I were the draft beers. We had a couple of Yeungling drafts. Can't get that it in California. Costco in Tulsa has it by the case, so we may get a case or two to take home.
Across the street from Sugar Creek was the Oklahoma Casino. Pretty much the same as Sugar Creek, 18 and over. My wife lost playing Mystery of the Lamps and red screen games. I ended up down $40 between the Lamps and old school All that Glitters, a cascading reels slot. Son ended up $50 playing a fishing game. Son and I had a couple more Yeungling drafts.
Ate at Waffle House right next door to our Hampton Inn in Yukon, right outside OKC. Son had the bacon and egg hashbrown bowl with gravy. Wife had a cheeseteak sandwich and hashbrown, while I opted for the patty melt and hashbrowns. Food was okay. Paid $37, plus tip.
Checked in to the Hampton Inn. Used HH points again. We will use points the entire trip, except for the 23rd, 24th and 25th when staying in Skaitook. Room was fine, and it will be an early day on the 23rd, so we hit the hay pretty fast.
