Thanks Westie for the great report and photos and I think that it could be that you got the Royal as good Karma for posting these great reports!

Since I see that Dunkin Donuts was mentioned, I want to let you know that in I think Vegas Seven magazine (or at least one of the magazines that is found in front of Hash-House A Go-Go at Plaza), I have found the last couple of times coupons in there for a free donut with the purchase of a coffee at several Dunkin Donuts locations around LV including the one in Fremont Casino, so do keep that in mind for the future.

As for The Four Tops, I was lucky to see them in 1995 at MGM Grand in LV since I had heard that all four of them were still there at the time. I knew that it was only a matter of time before one or more of them would go. But it was in the Hollywood Theater which is a small room and so that show was pretty loud. Thank G-d I was smart enough to get seats in the middle because up front would have been way too loud. I fortunately had seen a schematic of the room and knew that the further back that we were, the more of our hearing that might be saved.

Thanks Rec - we really don't like the donuts at Dunkin Donuts so I would not bother with the coupon though my wife likes the coffee. I never touch the stuff unless it laced with liquor.

The 4 Tops were loud but it was not a problem.
Westie, if over 55 you get free coffee at Dunkins every day!!!

I enjoyed your report.

Ok, Westie!

As for the 4 Tops, our ears were ringing for a while after the concert where we were. Actually, at least initially when we arrived, my girlfriend at the time was not happy with me that our seats were in the middle but after she saw how loud it was, she was a lot happier with me when she found out that I actually had checked the place out and realized that for the size of the venue that it was, that it was likely to be quite loud.

She ended up being very appreciative that I took the time and effort to check that kind of stuff out.

Great trip report.
It is great to feel like we were along on the trip from BDL and can't imagine any "Senior Moments"
How do you keep track of all those deals, locations and menus and still able to recall them all for a fantastic report?
MO
Your trip reports are great! You two eat at a lot of places Connie and I haven't tried, so it gives us ideas for upcoming trips.
Glad to hear that you hit a royal at the end to wind up in the black - that's perfect timing.

MO - thanks. My MO (modus operandi) in preparing for a trip is to draw up a flexible, but detailed daily schedule. The restaurants are usually chosen based on the restaurant reviews I post each week on this board and/or our prior experience. I maintain an extensive list of restaurants including addresses, days opened, happy hours if applicable of interest including ones we have really enjoyed in the past. Should I discover a Groupon/coupon for one of them, I put it on our schedule for the next trip. Another way is when I find a deal on restaurant and then check for online reviews in the freebie mags, R-J, LVA, Yelp, urbanspoon and tripadvisor.

As far a remembering the details are concerned, I hastily write a few notes on where and what we ate, how much it cost and assign a rating on returning to the room. It then becomes relatively easy for me to write the TR using those notes plus the related photos. When all else fails, I lie. LOL
Westie,

Great report again as usual. Glad you hit the royal to come out ahead. The next time I read one of your TRs I will make sure I eat first. That food porn is just too much to take on an empty stomach.
