BIG NEWS:
I FINALLY hit my life's 1st ever royal on Video Poker!! It was a small one as I was playing at 5 play VP $1.25 per. It paid 500 times 25cents. $125 It was at the Harrah's Horseshoe in Boisier City (across the river from Sam'sTown).
Played live 1/2 no limit poker at the El Dorado, next to Sam's Town. After 8 hours of play I won $25. I went from down to $25 with $400 output to up $25 when I quit.
We stayed at Sam's Town. The place was packed for New Years as were all the casinos here. We went to the Sam's Town Emerald Member party in the Ballroom. The dance floor was minisule as the tables took up the floor. They had a drawing for 10 $1000 gifts. A "lady" at our table won one. The band was OK and played old rock and roll. I was one of four people in a tux as I had been told by Laura it was formal.
Most people were business casual in nonmatching pants and coat with tie. Laura and I dance pretty well. There was no room to dance. Most folks were bad dancers. For example, on a waltz, they all stayed in place. How do you waltz not moving? It looked like mostly improvized, on the spot, not moving dancing, but hey were all having fun!!
We got free party favors, hats, noise makers, etc. Food was the best. Steak, shrimp (big) etc. Baked flaming Alaska for desert. Sam's here knows how to cook!
Finally got back to the room about 2am. There were two big strawberrys covered in chocolate and two other fancy chocolate things with a whipped chocolate center, with white chocolate sticks. There were two champagne flutes and a bottle of champagne from Sam's Marketing.
A great trip and fun!
We broke even for the trip gambling, that to me is a win. Down about $30 in gas cost. Free room, food, party. Scored a beautiful green umbrella (who ever thought a good looking green?) for Laura's renewal of her Emerald status.
