We have a multi-trip history involving stays at NYNY, but it's been a couple years since we've roomed there (pre-pandemic). The rooms even at that time were a bit dated and in need of renovation (with old-fashioned popcorn acoustic texture on the ceilings as one indicator). Yet, they were always clean and the overall service levels at that time didn't include the current challenges with service staff issues ( or the mindsets of Strip resort management that presently includes every attempt to squeeze every last penny out of their patrons and exhaust a limited staff, or seemingly so). I'm sure a portion of the service staffs at NYNY and other joints likely don't have great attitudes anymore..who could blame em?
We did , however, always enjoy the base vibe in the NYNY casino and they routinely offered a semi-playable $25/hand double deck blackjack game at the time. We have visited the casino in the past couple years. Plus, at the time anyway, NYNY offered a full spectrum of dining options that spanned the cost scale to include some semi - frugal options ( among comparative Strip options, anyway). As far as I know most of those venues have reopened so some of those provide some comparatively less expensive dining options among Strip locations currently. The America Cafe is one of the few remaining 24 hour venues of its type left on the Strip. We also had a pretty good host at the time..she made some things just a skosh less difficult at times.
Thanks for sharing the TR...enjoyable to read excluding all the NYNY headaches experiences. Those wait times you experienced are truly inexcusable.
